I feel that I have been rip off and I am being taken advantage of, and I am wondering how many other residents have been victimized by Octillio Village/ Select Suites, located at 4221 E. McDowellPhoenix Arizona, 85008 (602) 267-7917. Octillo Village is an extended stay hotel who leases it suites on a short-term to long term stary. It's employees are mostly immigrant workers who are probably not legal. Every other week, I notice a different worker and the ones are employed can barley speak or read English.
I am not sure if Octillio Village is registered as an apartment building or a hotel suite. If they are listed as an apartment building they must follow Landlord and Tenant Policies. One crucial policy is that the property owner of Octillio Village ) must provide the tenant with a 48 hour notice before entering the tenant or gust suite. If they are operating under Hotel or Motel Policies, they do not adhere to Landlord and Tenant Polices. Either way, it does not give Octillio Village staff, maintenance workers (male and female immigrants) cleaning services, and exterminating services to treat my suite as a revolving door to go into my suite and steal my items.
If you are single and female, the Octillio Village staff always notifies its single male mexican immigrants on staff.
I have been a resident at Octillio Village for about 5 months. In those five months, my jewelry, silverware, social security card, other eyeglass (cost about $300) and other paper documents have been stolen. In addition, my clothes have been damage, my blouse and brand new sweater; the buttons have been ripped off. Items that are not mine left in my suite. Also, a maintenance workers have entered into my suite to replace a VCR without my knowledge (there was nothing wrong with the old one. A new-showered head replaced without my knowledge, there was nothing wrong with the old one. Whenever I complained about items stolen or missing, I was told that I could move, and since I am stilling residing there, the harassment continues. Recently, I returned to my suite to find thin black hair strands left around my face bowl in my bathroom. I noticed that if I leave a work number in with the front office, the next day, I receive telephone calls and hang-ups. If you file a police report, they will not investigate because they have other high crimes to deal with.
Previously I have moved twice from other apartment because of experience this same situation.
Octillio Village staff, maintenance workers, maids and other employees know are aware of this. They are the ones with the keys hat maintenance workers who are Mexican immigrants, work in apartment complexes, and have keys to apartments and suites, they will make copies of your keys and pass them on their friends and relatives thus having your items stolen while they claim that they are innocent.
On a Saturday, I saw a previous employee who was terminated enter into the front office with a key. The friend of 17 years still works there. Octillio Village claims that they are a Friendly Staff, but what they don't tell you is that their staff members harass their residents when they exert their rights. Other Octillio Village employees enter into your suite when you are not there to steal and they let you know that they were there buy leaving hair strands, and items that are not yours.
Something needs to be done about the dirty business practices of Octillio Village. I would like all correspondence replied to my e-mail. To protect my identity and safety, my name has been change. I have to be careful because I know that I am dealing with low-down and dirty employees who work at Octillio Village.
