Mary Latini from Oh My Cockers sold me 2 sick dogs. She has done this to numerous people. The AKC does not care. They only care about MONEY! Stop registering with the AKC. What do they do for your money? Nothing. They have the best scam in town!

Dogs were not sick when they left here!

The two dogs were not sick when they left with Darlene Matson, back in the summer of 2002. What she has done do them, or not done to them since, to make them sick I do not know. I lost contact with her after I refused to sign the registration papers for AKC because she refused to give me my puppy back . Yes I am aware that I made a mistake in selling the dogs to her, she was very kind and sweet on the phone, and when I met her in person ( with a witness that knows the dogs were in good health) she was a very amiable individual. She quickly turned into a hateful, spiteful, mean person when she realized she could not "rip me off" by keeping all the puppies in the litter ( which she did) but she also wanted me to sign over registration to them! ( which I didn't) I am aware that it is illegal to house , own , breed sell or even HAVE a sick dog in most states without taking care of the sickness. I was never notified by Darlene Matson that there was any sickness ( because there wasn't) after she purchased the girls, but most people know that there are certain "buzz words" that will attract the attention of people and one of them is "sick dog". Darlene is smart, savvy, and as she states about the AKC in her own letter "ONLY AFTER THE MONEY". I should have followed my heart and given the dogs to loving families, spayed. I made the mistake of believing this woman, Darlene Matson, was honest and forthright, and a responsible breeder. Was I WRONG!!!! I have learned from my mistake in this matter. AKC has also checked into this matter and been informed of it. Thank you for taking your time to write about this all the way from Kansas, but I suspect you were reacting to the "buzz words" that Darlene put in her first email "sick dogs". I unfortunately just found out about this slanderous post a few days ago, when I wrote my rebuttal, and I intend to take further action against both the writer of the slander and the persons responsible for posting it all over the internet search engines. I do not often look up my own site, as I know the URL, but the other day I asked someone to look "Oh My Cockers" up on a search engine and he said "someone doesn't like you". Immediately I knew who he was talking about, and I said " it must be that scheister Darlene Matson, the one who tried to get the litter of puppies registered without giving me the puppy back she was supposed to". I was right , sadly there are people out there who do this type of thing , then falsy accuse the one they have ripped off, and there are places like this site that will publish them without investigation.

Don't Want Your Bloodlines in Puppy Mills?

#5Consumer Suggestion

Thu, August 05, 2004

If you do not want your cocker's bloodlines in puppy mills, or shelters, you should be more careful about how you sell them. My parents own a mahogany cocker spaniel and guess where they got her? Puppy mill rescue! She's a beautiful girl, but has issues as most puppy mills dogs have. Don't sell your cockers without marking them for ID first (microchip, tattoo) that can be traced back to you. Don't sell to anyone who is not a proven breeder and who won't breed the dog to death. Being a responsible breeder will keep your line from being destroyed. If these dogs were not sick when you had them, what happened to them and did you offer to take them back? Is the original poster here willing to prove through a qualified vet that the dogs were sick when she got them? If either of you are at fault, the AKC should be notified immediately as well as the state. Selling and/or breeding sick dogs is against the law in some areas of the country.

Anyone can file a bogus report on rip off?

#6Consumer Suggestion

Wed, August 04, 2004

Ms Darlene Matson purchased 2 breeding age female cocker spaniels from me, one was pregnant. Our verbal and written agreement was that she would give me one puppy in return, of my choice. As many of these co-owner situations go, this one went bad when we had a disagreement over which puppy I wanted and which puppy she wanted to give me. I refused to sign the AKC registration papers when I heard from a reliable source that she was selling her puppies on full registration to anyone who would pay the money. I did not want my bloodlines to wind up in puppy mills, etc. Neither of the two girls I sold her were sick. If any puppies got sick it was because of the treatment they did or did not receive while living with Darlene Matson. I wound up not getting any puppy in return for the stud fee my boy had provided the girl she purchased pregnant, as was originally agreed. Darlene went to numerous people, told them many stories and last I heard she was doing battle with the American Kennel Club, whose reputation is beyond refute. I was told by the AKC that they would register the litter even though I didn't agree to it. I think Darlene got more than her "pound of flesh" out of this deal, as she bought a pregnant dog and her sister for 500 total, and sold the puppies for more than 400 ea, paid no stud fee, and gave me no puppy in return. Now she has filed my name and slandered me on this "rip off" site. Imagine that! Oh well it takes all kinds to make up the world. Sincerely Oh My Cockers [DELETED]
