I being a new mom wanted to photograph every stage of my daughters life. So at three months we decided to get her first professional pictures taken. If I would have only known what we getting into. So in November of 2008 I made an appointment. When I called I told them that I had a coupon and told them what it said. I asked if I could split up the package to be two poses and just pay extra. I was told that was fine. So we took her in for the appointment we made. We arrived early so that I could feed her and be ready right at our appointment time. So our time rolls around and we weren't called back,15 minutes,30 minutes, 45 minutes. Finally after more than 45 minutes later and with one tired baby we were called back. The photographer was great and really worked with her. Then after taking the pictures we had to wait another 40 minutes to even pick them out. When it came to picking the pictures I told them what customer service said about splitting the package up and the lady taking care of us, said that wasnt true we couldnt do that. So long story short we end up paying almost $200 in pictures. A few weeks later we go to pick them up and there was some missing including some personalized portrait cards. So I complain about all the problems I've had and how I am never coming back there.

And after all that, they tried to sell me extra sheets the lab "accidently printed", give me a break. The lady says that she will place the order for the rest of the picures that did not arrive and it will be a few weeks for pick up. I told her that I shouldn't have to pick them up because it wasn't my mistake and I live over 30 minutes away. She said that they dont ship things. A few minutes later I call Olan Mills customer service and the guy gave me the number to the district manager. Of course like everyone elso says, it is a voicemail.I call multiple times and no call back. So I call customer service again and they said that they aren't able to give me the district manager's boss's number but they can take my info and forward to them. Surprise, I never get a call from them either. A few days after the rest of the pictures came in my mom was in Sanford and offered to pick them up, so when she does we find out that they aren't personalized. All the portrait cards said on them was "Emma" and when my mom said something to her about it. The lady told her that I declined getting them personalized. Yeah right lady, like I would do that! Give me a break! I tell everone that I can not to go there. It is absolutly pathetic what they call customer service.

It sounds like you had a pretty bad experience, and no denying it. There's one thing that's completely tripping me up though: You said your cards weren't personalized, but they had your daughter's name on them?  That's what personalization is, dude. I mean, you can put just about anything you want on them provided it's short and not obscene, but most people stick with their kid's name.

I'm not trying to defend the company or anything, because the way we're booked during the holidays always leads to long waits and mistakes made. From November through December last year I worked 14 hours a day with no breaks and no days off. I got home no earlier than 1:30 in the morning and had to be up by 6 to do it all again. I literally went weeks without seeing my family...who I live with.  I know at my studio we tried to keep a basic level of customer service, but when you have over 50 appointments booked in a day and you have to endure glares and curses so you can walk away for a restroom break (forget actually leaving to get food, and your bosses won't let you leave food in the studio) and even are physically threatened by men twice your size who have been waiting for two hours and want a refund you have no power to give...

Wow, I didn't mean for this to turn into a rant. Apologies, I still have nightmares about Christmas.  Just try to see things from other people's point of view. Walk a mile.  That rude woman probably hadn't seen her family or gotten a decent night's sleep in days.  Doesn't make it right, but it should make you ask yourself how you'd act in a similar situation.
