Oleg Shmelev came to my house and hired me to edit a sizzle reel for his performing artist named An-Ya. He wanted to show off her skills. She is extremely talented. I gave him a price and a time frame. He cut the budget in half and said he needed it done in half the time.
I dropped everything, edited the reel, created graphics, and went way above and beyond what he asked for so I could impress him and hopefully gain another valuable client. I did my job and delivered as promised on time.
He thenfailed to pay me as he promised. He said he was having problems. I was sympathetic so I asked for a partial payment. He failed to pay me 2 more times and could not even pay me a partial payment. This all took place in the weeks leading up to Christmas.
I had to ask another client for an advance just to buy my kids Christmas presents. Now I'm taking money from my mortgage payment to survive risking losing my house.

I, Doug Nolan, filed the report. I have been ripped of many times and was worried it was happening again.
I was completely wrong about Oleg. He is true and righteous. He paid me the entire amount. I regret filing this report of ROR and wish I could delete it from existence. Alas, the rules are here they will never delete the report. Though I don't agree with this policy, I cannot change it.
My sincerest apologies to Oleg. He is a great guy and I would gladly do business with him again and gladly extend 30-90 day terms to him.
