After a follow-up conversation with One Step, I'm waiting to see whether they will get their act together. They've promised to take steps to address some of my concerns about timely payments/statements, repairs, and tenant issues - but time will tell. I've also asked them to provide copies of the background check and lease - again, we'll see if they follow through. Apparently they did not sign a two-year lease with the tenant, as a former One Step employee told me at one point. They seem to have signed a one-year lease which is now expired and the tenant is month-to-month. The last statement in my previous post was more anger than substance. However, I'd still advise anyone to be very careful about doing business with One Step. Their contract is borderline predatory - including a minimum 365 notice period to terminate the agreement!
