Me and my dad signed up for a trial version of this online detective service. It was to be 9.95 for 3 days and then it would renew at 29.95 if it was not cancelled after the 3rd day. When we got into the site it not only did not have anything that we couldn't get by footwork, but most of the sites it linked to were pay sites. We could have gotten all that info for free on the internet.

So when we got the email confirming the transaction, I opened it to make sure that everything was correct.

Instead my dad was charged 29.95 for 30 days. Oh, all hell broke loose! He immediately cancelled and called the billing service that handled the transaction. They said that IT AUTOMATICALLY DEFAULTS TO THE 29.95 PLAN REGARDLESS OF WETHER YOU SIGNED UP FOR THE 9.95 TRAIL!!!!!!!!!!!! I COULD NOT BELIEVE IT!!!!

Of course, they apologized for that AND, of course, ONLINE DETECTIVE DOES NOT HAVE A NUMBER WHERE YOU CAN TALK TO A HUMAN BEING!!!!!! I HAVE NEVER SEEN A RIP-OFF THAT WAS SO F**KING BLATANT IN MY LIFE! DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, USE THIS ONLINE SERVICE.

IF YOU NEED A DETECTIVE, GOOD'OLE FLESH AND BLOOD WILL GET THE JOB DONE!

It's a shame... yet to find an online detective web site worthy of my love or respect.

Margo, I have yet to find an online detective web site worthy of my love or respect. The majority of these web sites that offer you unlimited access for a monthly fee are usually just intermediaries to web sites you can get to without them. Want to be an online detective? Theres Anywho to track people down, it also has a reverse phone number directory. There are web pages to track down the owners of businesses through the secretary of states web pageeach state has its own. These are the pages the online detective web sites direct you to for a fee. Of course there are countless more resources onlinetoo many for me to mention in this reply. Anyone who would like a list of those resources can send me e-mail. Back to the fraudsters, if they charged your credit card file a charge back. If they nailed your bank account go to the bank and file a fraud complaint form for the ACH and demand all funds returned. Of course, there a private detectives with web sites who do not fall into these categories--they are the real deal who do the gum shoe work for you. Want to become a detective online--sign up for DBT's Autotrak that allows you to skip trace anyone. These databases are becoming more and more restricted on access. There are laws that regulate access to these databases because they contain personal data like social security, date of birth, maiden names, addresses, phone numbers, names of brothers and sisters and spouses and all of their personal goodies. Everything a slick fraudster would need to steal an identity. Good Luck!
