Overton Russell Lawfirm bills a 15 yr old for a copay, then reports to credit agency. HELLO he's 15!!!! Clifton Park New York
My son now 19 and entering his second yr of college applied for a loan and was turned down due to a low credit score. As usual they told him to pull
his free credit report, which he did.
To his suprise it showed a negative report from Overton Russell for Oct. of 2005 in the amount ot $198.00. When calling them he was told it was a medical bill. This time period was when he was 15 yrs old and cut his finger off with a wood spliter and his father and i met him in the emergency room where they re-attached the finger.
He tried to tell Overton Russell that they Bill was not his that he was 15 yrs old at the time and that the rest of the Bill was pd by his father's insurance and this amount should of been pd by his father as well. They told him they had the correct information from the Hosptial CVPH Medical center.
My Son called the hospital explaining his situaiton again saying he was 15 and what Overton Russell and them have done to his credit. They told him is was a co-pay. My son agreed and asked to bill his father as he was done on all documentation as the responsible party.
Some how they sent Overton Russell the information with my son's name, ss# DOB, address, amount owed. Now as law firm, do they not look at the information sent and say gee, I think they sent the wrong information here. This appears to be a 15 year old minor. Both parties apparently don't review their paperwork before submission.
Both the Medically Facility CVPH Medical Center and Overton Russell where more worried about the $$$$$$ they saw then the accuracy of their infomation or the damage they may perhaps cause. This does nothing for either of their reputations.
There are federal guidelines that must be followed in NYS by any collection service/agency. I worked for 11 yrs as a collection mgr. This would not of happen if we received this submitted information. It would of been returned to the client. People should be aware of their rights and go online an look up these guidelines, I think you would be suprised.

Overton, Russell, Doerr & Donovan Ditto to all others complaints, Not Helpful, Rude, Ruin Personal Credit, etc... New York I too had them show up on my credit report when it was actually the fault of the hospital billing department. They were NO help when I spoke to them on the phone and when you read their rebuttals, they always blame someone else and have an excuse. They are truly NO help and hurt the reputation of many innocent people like myself bsides being rude and discourtious. I just got off the phone with the hospital who will be sending out noterized letters stating they were at fault. I will also be sending them to the different credit agencies who have told me they will remove O,R, D & D from the reports when received. Thank you for all your help Overton, Russell, Doerr & Donovan........ You truly belong on this web-site for trying to be a bully! Bowling300 Troy, New York
