Palisades Collection ripoff At it again! This company needs to be stopped! Englewood Cliffs New Jersey
Palisades Collection, LLC recently showed up on my credit report twice. Once for $1,634.00 and once for $241.00. They provided no account number and no phone number. They stated that I owed on both of these accounts as of March 2006. They also stated that this account was opened in October of 2005. This was a surprise to me I never knew I owed money to anyone let alone $1875.00 to a company in which I have never heard or received any thing from.
So I went through the dispute process. I have been writing to the 3 major credit bureaus since March of 2006 trying to get them to remove this. They keep telling me they have verified this debt. This is impossible, so I research this company on the internet looking for contact information and I find 3 pages of similar experiences from other consumers having the same problem.
After reading these complaints about this company I contacted the 3 credit bureaus again with this information and I filed a complaint with the FTC & BBB. The credit bureaus did nothing of course. The BBB wrote Palisades a letter and they responded that they did not have enough information to verify this debt (letter is attached) they also put the wrong last name. I have tried calling the number on the response letter to the BBB but it's just an answering machine.
My next step was to write the Attorney Generals Office and let them now about this company. I attached a few of the stories from this website to let them know the severity of this matter. I will then write Palisades and give them the opportunity to remove this from my report. Which I am sure they won't willing do this but a little help from the BBB, FTC and Attorney Generals Office might help!
Furthermore, I wanted to share my expereince in hopes that it helps more people like other storeies helped me. As well, we need to all come together and file a class action law suit!!!
