Buyer BEWARE! I purchased a 2000 Chevy Blazer from Pana Motors in January.

In March I discovered that the tires that were sold to me as "new"  (this was listed on their website as a selling point of this vehicle) were actually 12 years old. $485 later, I had 4 new tires because the ones on the vehicle were dry rotted and unsafe.

In June the water pump started leaking, another $400 spent and within 24 hours the intake manifold gasket blew and the car was spewing antifreeze from the top of the motor. At this point, I took it back to Pana Motors and parked it on their lot to repair. The vehicle was still running at this point.

In July I finally got my Blazer back, and within 24 hours (seems like a theme) it broke down again, dead in the road this time and it would not restart for anything so I had to have someone push my vehicle back to my home. The battery was completely dead, I was told probably due to the mechanic that had it for more than a week leaving it on a concrete floor. Another $95 spent for a new battery. After replacing the battery, the vehicle had the exact same problem.

They sent the same mechanic to my home to check out the car yesterday, since it is not running and could not be taken there after it has sat for more than a week, only to be told as far as he can tell the motor is blown. Really? Is this guy even a real mechanic because I saw him put a plastic bottle over the motor yesterday when he was trying to get it to start!

Now I'm out $1500 deposit, $1500 in payments I've made, $485 for new tires, $95 for a new battery, $400 for the water pump repair and now they have added an additional $419 to my $1600 balance to pay for the intake gasket replacement AND I HAVE NOT HAD A RUNNING VEHICLE IN ALMOST 2 MONTHS!

All for a car that was originally listed for sale at $3000 that didn't last 5 months!

Have a REAL mechanic check out anything you purchase from this lot.

Buyer BEWARE!

Illegal Repo

So according to Jay, the owner of Pana Motors, my vehicle was NEVER repossessed. This statement was made by him when I received a call from the Austin Police Department telling me that they had found my vehicle abandoned in the drug ridden ghetto of South East Austin and I showed up to retrieve it not knowing that it was actually parked behind Martha Mares' (Soto) residence and I had an officer show up  to defuse her crazy yelling and screaming.

APD has the entire conversation between Jay and myself recorded since they always have an open MIC for their safety and if Ms Mares does not stop slandering me by saying my vehicle was reposessed when the owner of the company says it was not (and there is no record of it being reposessed) I will seek legal action against her directly and Pana Motors as she is acting as their representative.

There was no need for Ms Mares to add a rebuttal to the posting on this site but because she has chosen to lie again and state that my vehicle was reposessed, when the owner of the company clearly has stated that it was not, I have reposted my original Yelp review of this company which I had agreed to take down when I thought we had resolved this whole mess months ago.

I was NOT behind even ONE day in payments and according to the owner, the vehicle was NEVER repossessed. This employee of Pana Motors is a vindictive b**** who thinks she can get away with slander and libel on this site.

I will be hiring a lawyer to deal with you now because the car, which is still legally registered to me was supposed to be sent a junk yard, which I have never  been provided proof of.

My report here and on Yelp will be placed back on the internet effective immediately until I have proof that Pana Motors has kept up their end of our deal and sent this piece of s*** vehicle that they sold me to its grave!

You reap what you sow!

Regarding Rightful Repossession

Mr. Jim, we do not like to put our customers financial struggles on the internet regardless of how the situation becomes.  However, we do have to be honest since this too is our reputation.  The customer was behind on payments for over a month.  It was our right to repossess due to non payment and there was a signed document clarifying this.

Respectfully,

Issue Has Been Addressed and Resolved

In regards to the matter mentioned above, we, Pana Motors have taken steps in resolving this matter.  Unfortunately, our new business was looking for mechanics when we first arrived to Austin, TX from Dallas, TX. In doing so we ran into this particular situation.  We do apolagize for the mishap and take full responcibility for that error in trusting an outside source for mechanical work.  However, we have now opened up our own mechanic shop with the right mechanic who is reliable and knowledgeable in both foreign and domestic vehicles.  As far as the selling "lemons", we do not believe this is a fair statement as these vehicles are sold in good working condition with no problems at the time of sale.  We offer warranties to each and every customer and are purchased at customer discrection.  We do not "push" warranties on customers.  Warranties are simply offered. We do reiterate that these vehicles are used therefore signatures are required on our "Buyers Guides" so that all customers acknowledge defects that can occur on used vehicles.

We have been in business in Austin, TX for one whole year and this was the first time ever having an issue.  We will always do what is fair in doing any business with every customer and have always worked with our customers when they have financial struggles or mechanical issues. Jofrett Blackman has contacted the customer and is to our understanding that Kimberly Hancock was satisfied with the result.  We feel this issue has been resolved as fair as possible and can only grow from this in the future.

What you described is problems with an old used car.  What about the supposedly illegal repo?
