I was on my computer one day (10/19/08) Whenever I tried going to a website where I have visited many times before, it kept switching me to a different website. After trying many many times I almost gave up. I went to google and underneath the logo it said something about Antivirus 2009. I ignored it once, because I wanted to figure out whatever was attacking my computer. I got other pop ups saying I needed to get some sort of anti viral program for my computer. I pressed "scan" to scan my computer for any viruses, it scanned my computer and it said I needed to purchase Antivirus 2009 to get rid of those viruses. Many many pop ups kept coming and coming, and so I went back to google to see if the Antivirus 2009 program ad was underneath the logo. I thought that the Antivirus 2009 was a legitimate program because it was supposedly sponsored by google. I purchased the program with my debit master card, and the virus went away. Thinking that I solved the program. No where on my computer could i find the Antivirus 2009 program, and I got worried. But since the virus was gone, i figured it worked out just fine. I told my dad about what I did, because he was having the same problem on his part of the computer. A couple weeks later, the same thing happened, and that is when I figured out that something was wrong, and that I might have got jipped the 49.95 "Antivirus 2009" program, and 1.50 "activation fee" later when I looked at my bank statement the 1.50 was actually $1.48 foreign processing fee. What is that? I was thinking to myself. So i figured I lost that $50+ until I found this website and thought maybe I have the chance to get these people in trouble for putting viruses on peoples computer and making them pay the money to supposedly get the fake virus off. This isnt the first time I have heard about this. After this happened to me, it happened to one of my family members, they did not purchase the "program" though.
