Pangea Real Estate Pangea RE Horrible Customer Service All Around Indianapolis Indiana
I currently live in Pangea Vistas in Indianapolis, IN.
When I moved into my apartment in April, I thought, "This is going to be a good place for my kids and I." I WAS WRONG! Since I moved in, three people have been shot and killed within 100 feet of my "home", the kids, no matter what age they are, are outside by themselves all hours of the day and night with out any type of supervision, even though numerous notices have been sent out to residents stating this is not acceptable. Residents do not pick up after their animals. Every time I walk out into our common hallway, I am immediately hit in the face by the smell of weed, and can even sometimes smell it into my apartment. I have had to call the police numerous times for loud fights and music past 10:00 at night.
My mother lives in another Pangea property, and she has had similar problems as well, with no signs of them being fixed!
My unit was "Completely Remodeled" and about a month or so ago, there was a clogged pipe in the utility room and the hot water heater caused a small flood and water damage to the walls. Working for a water damage restoration company, I know that this closet was not dried out properly and I know what the probability is that there is mold growing behind the drywall. But this was not a concern when I mentioned it. "If you decide that you want the wall painted, just put in another work order request," is what I was told.
And to top off my horrible experience, THE CUSTOMER SERVICE OF THE ENTIRE COMPANY IS ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!!!! I had made VERBAL PAYMENT ARRANGEMENTS (because they don't/ won't give you anything in writing) with the leasing agent and former office manager. I made all necessary payments in keeping the arrangement, and three weeks late, received five separate notices of non-payment and eviction. I called both the customer service number, and my local office, and was told that, even though I had payment arrangements, they can choose to evict me basically anytime they felt, even though I had help up my end of the bargain. After about ten minutes of going back and forth, I was told that my original payment arrangement would be ok, but I still have nothing in writing, and I now live in fear the my kids and I will be up the creek without a paddle, simply because they can!!!!
I truly cannot wait until my lease is up so I can get out of this situation! I recently found out that Pangea has had over 30 complaints with the BBB, with a "C" rating, as well as reports on ripoffreport.com. I am posting this so that hopefully, future prospective tenants will be smarter than I was and do the research BEFORE you give them any money or sign a lease!!!
This will probably not get posted for people looking to rent from Pangea to see, but I feel you should know the truth (good, bad and ugly) about what you are going to get yourself into by renting from Pangea!
