When you get spam, any kind of spam, that you don't like NEVER use the "remove me" function. What you are doing when you enter your name into a 'delete me from your email list' type place is telling the people your email address is valid and can receive spam. Those people then turn around and sell your name to another spammer. The best thing to do is simply delete any questionable mail and install a spam blocker program that lets you filter your mail using key words. Some of them even have a 'bounce' function that tells the spammers your email is invalid and makes them remove you from their lists. Good luck!

I was getting hammered with ugly, disgusting email, too. Could not figure it out as I do not visit these types of sites. I was only getting this junk on one of my computers, though; strange. Started looking for what was different. I had purchased a Logitech web cam for one of my computers (the spammed machine). The software for this camera loaded a folder named "BackWeb Lite"; this item opens your computer's door to broadcast your email address the entire time you are online. It gets picked up and added to the lists; voila, you get spammed! Took me well over a year to figure this out and I was really steamed. I am sure there are other applications that might load this folder as well. Look for it using Windows Explorer. ***BEWARE***:Windows contains a folder named "BackWeb"; it is essential to your system. ****DO NOT DELETE IT.**** The BackWeb Lite will show up in the application that loaded it (mine was in the Logitech folder), NOT in Windows files. Deleted the entire BackWeb Lite folder and used MailWasher (a great product) to start bouncing their garbage back to them. I am now relatively spam-free. What unsolicted email I do get is not of the filthy, want-to-wash-out-your-computer-with-soap stuff. My OS suffered absolutely no damage from deleting this folder, and the operator became less afraid of the inbox. I will never purchase another Logitech product due to this incident. I buy their product and they repay me by opening the "Spam Floodgates". Bad business, Logitech!
