On 11/7/09, my daughter attended an event they were the photographers for.  I gave them check #1002 for $40.00 for 2 photographs.  On the receipt, it states payments re'cd within 14 days of event ship in 3-4 weeks; payments after 21 days of event ship 6-8 weeks.  The check posted to my account 11/20/09.

I attempted to contact them on 12/12/09 via phone; left a voice mail.  I received no response, so I attempted to contact via the website the next day; still no response.  I have tried to contact them daily via the website and/or phone, with the exception of Sat/Sun/Mon as they are closed those days, and 12/24, 12/25, 12/31, and 1/1 due to the holidays.  I have yet to receive a phone call or email back.  The voice mail is now full, so I can't call them anymore.

None of the other parents in the band have received their photos either, so it's not a mail issue.  I am extremely disappointed in their customer service and want to know, does anyone have any ideas on what the next steps I should take to receive my photographs, as well as a partial, if not full, credit?  Thank you.

I too have not been able to get Mike Richardson to provide any photos from my daughter's Bat Mitzvah from 9/2008.  I have tried the phone numbers, and have tried to contact him at the studio but that is closed.  He did respond to one e-mail several weeks ago when i threatend to bring him to court and to go to the district attorney's  office.  But he will not respond to any since.  I have paid him $3,500 in full for an album and a disk with all the pics but have not been able to get him to do anything.  I am looking for others to get together and go together to attorney general or district attorney because Im certain this guy is guilty of fraud.  He does have prior record with the law.  Please contact me at (((Redacted))) to help me get the ball rolling.

That's great that you got things all figured out and finally received your photos. The problem though is that I have emailed him and well as tried calling him and I am not getting any responses. If he is no longer in business I'm not sure how to get in contact with him. What email address did you use to get in contact with him, if you don't mind me asking. Oh belive me I put negative comments about him every where I could. I'm just sooo upset about losing $4500. I just want was I was promised or my money back. I would love to take him ti court, but how can I do that without a valid address? thank you so much for those websites. I have made a complaint with the BBB but not the other site. Hopefully that will work! Again thank you, and any other suggestions you have for me, please let me know.

thanks!

I finally received the pictures

After filing a complaint with the BBB, and several government agencies, everyone at our school received their pictures around 2/2/10.  Mr Richardson sent me an email claiming that "everyone in Jacksonville's pictures had been lost by the post office".   This was only after my complaints were lodged with the various agencies, and after the secretary of the BandMasters association stepped in.

For the person who hasn't received the wedding photos, you need to file a complaint with the BBB, as well as the state attorney general.  These websites should help you out.

Also, I had to send a certified letter, with return receipt, in which I gave the company 7 days from receipt of my letter, to respond with my property or I would file in small claims court.  You may need to do this as well.  They received my letter the day before I received my photos, so by then, it was a moot point.

There are also a lot of sites out there, that other people who are planning weddings, and other events, use to look at vendors.  I have left this company a negative ad on every site I have found (including Yelp), and you may want to look into doing that as well.

I recently came across your report while trying to find any way I could get in contact with Mike Richardson from Paradise Studios Photography. I hired Mike to be my photographer for my wedding, which was June 20th, 2009. After the wedding he was VERY hard to get a hold of. I paid extra for a 100 photo leather book for me and a 50 photo leather book  for my parents, 2 framed large photos and a disk for the rights to own the photos. The only thing I have gotten is the disk, and thank god I got the disk with the pictures on it because after that, nor me or my mom has been able to get in touch with him. He disappeared with my $4500 and all I got was a $300 disk that I paid extra for. I REALLLLY want to take him to small claims court but can't due to not having a valid address to serve him. I did go back to his studio where I first met him and he is no longer there. I saw on your report that you got a call on 1/10... was that from Mike Richardson? And if so, how the heck did you get in touch with him? I have been calling him every couple of days for 5 months already and every time I call it goes to voicemail which is always full! I have heard from several people that there are around 5 other brides who haven't even received their wedding pictures. I'm out $4500 and I'm just soooo upset especially since I didn't get anything I paid for! Help!

It is now 1/31 and still no photos

I sent an email on 1/7/10, informing them that I was sending a registered letter to them, and they would have 7 business days to give me my photos, or I would take them to small claims court.  I have also contacted the FBA and the band directors, and informed them of the problem.  As vp of the band booster organization, I have recommended we no longer use this photography company.

I finally received an email, on 1/10, and the photos had been mailed 12/17/09.  From a town that is less than 4 hours away.   This was from Mike Richardson, President.

On 1/24, after several more emails from myself, I was sent an email stating the entire order to Jacksonville was lost.  They were to be remailed on the 25th.

It is now 1/31, and still no photos.   I am sending them a registered letter on Wednesday, and will be filing in small claims court the week after.
