I worked for Paramount Asset Management as a contractor for a short period of time. During that time I was doing landscaping, inspections, lock changes, debris removal and maid services on vacant homes that were for sale or bank owned.

I have worked for many years in the REO (real estae owned) industry and have worked for large national companies and small regional companies. Many companies in this industry are essentially order mills posing as legitimate companies and some actually do a good job and complete bank ordered work correctly and pay their contractors who complete the ACTUAL work such as trimming a tree, removing old abandoned possessions from a house or just mowing a lawn.

Here are the things that made working as a contractor for Paramount Asset Mangement so unpleasant:

1. Constant harassment from office employees demanding ECDs (estimated completion dates) for your jobs. Emails and calls multiple times a day from random people since they don't assign coordinators to regions or contractors.

2. Receiving work orders that were overdue by days or weeks the day you received them. When you complete the job they dock your pay because the job was late (I don't own a time machine)

3. Inane demands to return to properties to take meaningless pictures. For example, asking for more pictures of the inside of drawers and cabinets when there are already 50 to 60 provided. I've been called back to properties a total of about 5 times by non-Paramount companies through thousand of orders but surpassed 5 with Paramount within a few weeks "You forgot to take a picture of one of the locks on a gate, please get that picture within 24 hours or we'll dock your pay for the job!"

4. Requesting maid services that required vacuuming, dusting, cleaning windows and mirrors, installing 3 new gel air fresheners, MOPPING all hard surfaces, scrubbing all toilets and baths, cleaning all drawers, inside and outside of all fridges, microwaves, stoves, freezers and cabinets! For 3 hours of work they pay you $25. This includes homes up to 7,000 sq ft with 8 bathrooms and multiple kitchens.

There are many more annoying aspects of this company but the reason I wrote this is because Paramount let me go as a contractor and subsequently claimed that the bank didn't pay them for a large portion of my final completed jobs so therefore they could not pay me the money they owed me for completed work. They sent me my final pay with a huge portion of what they owed me missing and I'm never going to get that money.

If you believe you should be compensated for completed work then Paramount is not the company for you. They constantly churn through contractors and employees because they treat people poorly. Don't end up like me writing emails asking where your hard earned money is and finally giving up since you don't want to think about it anymore.

Avoid contracting for this company at all costs
