I signed up for a sample and a trial period to try product and program. I had 14 days to try it ---- and then either cancel or I would then be charged monthly for weight loss capsules that would be shipped to me.
I received the sample product but didn't like it so I sent it back and canceled (online) two days before the trial period ended.
I just received my Visa bill and saw $49.98 charged by Paraslim AFTER the cancellation.
When I called them, they said that I my cancellation online was not for the product -- only for the online journal program. Of course, I thought I was canceling the whole program.
Nowhere in the cancellation process, does it spell out what you are canceling --- and what you are NOT canceling (by design, I'm sure now).
The Customer Service person on the phone says that it doesn't matter that I didn't like the product, or that I sent it back. I didn't cancel the "product subscription" so I owe the $49.98.
It spells out their No Refund policy in the fine print of terms and conditions --- but only if you don't cancel in time. I THOUGHT I HAD!
Now for the kicker ---- when Paraslim tried to charge my card for the full product amount of $79.98, it was rejected because I didn't authorize it. So, Paraslim charged $49.98 --- which is the amount that Visa holds any cardholder liable if unsatisfied with a business service or product.
Net/Net, Paraslim has the $49.98 and there is nothing I can do about it.
And, Paraslim Customer Service would not give me a supervisor or provide me with any names of upper management that I could talk to or contact. They stonewalled me completely.
A total scam ---- please beware!
