The refrigerator part I ordered was after market (per the repairman) and the plug recepticles were configured differently from the original part so he advised me to return it. I was told I would be emailed a bar coded return label and to make sure to write the return number on the package. I waited two weeks and called 3 times before I finally received the email with the label. I was told it took so long because the shipping department had to create it. 

When I finally received the label, I packaged the unused part in the same packaging and box it came in and put the return number on the package as instructed. I was told I could use the shipper of my choice so I returned it USPS.

After a few weeks had gone by I checked the return site by order number. It said the return amount of $81.10 for the part minus original shipping charges was pending. Over and over I checked to see where my refund was. I called customer service several times and emailed them as well. I was told it takes time. Then I was told I didn't have a tracking number so they can't find it in the warehouse. When I said I returned it with your label and followed your instructions they told me they can't find it without a tracking number. When I said I wouldn't need a tracking number unless I have to go into the post office to purchase a return label they told me it was my fault for ordering the wrong part so I should have paid for shipping......then I would have the tracking number! I replied that when I told them why I was returning the part they said nothing of the sort and I'm tired of one excuse after another. I have all the email correspondence between us.

I have had to return orders to other companies and I have never experienced anything like this. I got my return label in my email within minues, packaged my return, put the number on the package and got my credit verified via email immediately. All I can say is buyer beware when doing business with Partselect.

I called them again after I had submitted this complaint. I went over the nightmare again as well. The rep was not happy but he promised to check into my return and refund. He tried to tell me that it says I have to pay return shipping on the website when it says only that the customer is responsible for return of the order and nothing about paying for the return. I was livid! I think telling him that I filed a complaint here was helpful. As of this morning I received not one, but two emails telling me they are processing my refund. I will make sure I receive the credit to my card within the time period they gave me and, if not, I will be back here. 

I would still be wary of ordering from them as this was a long and exhausting process and something a customer should not have to do.

Thank you for your review. All of our parts are original OEM parts that come directly from the manufacture with a 1 year warranty. We do not sell after market or used parts only brand new. As per our website please see below:

"Unlike many of our competitors, PartSelect sells only Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) parts. This means what we sell are the parts the manufacturer recommends and not after-market parts that may or may not work properly on your appliance. All our OEM parts carry a one-year manufacturer's warranty."

In regards to our return policy on our website, please see below:

"Returns

Order without worry! Any part in its original condition may be returned to PartSelect for a full refund within 30 days of shipping. It is our policy to refund the shipping price only if the part was shipped in error.

Please Note: Electronic or electrical parts which show signs of being installed or used CANNOT be accepted for refund under any circumstances.

If your part arrives damaged, you must contact PartSelect within 10 days of receiving the damaged part. If PartSelect is not contacted within 10 days of receipt of the damaged goods you will be ineligible for any refund.

All returns must have authorization, which can be obtained by contacting customer support at [email protected]. Please include your name, phone number, order number, and reason for the return. When returning your order, please make certain your order number is clearly indicated on the outside of your package. Allow up to 2 weeks for the refund to appear on your credit card statement."

If customers orders the incorrect part they are responsible for the return shipping and once the part is returned the refund for the part will be applied back to the credit card used for the order. If we ordered our customers the incorrect part we take full responsibility for it and would send pre paid shipping labels to have the part returned to us at no cost to our customer. 

We advise customers to keep track of the tracking number used to send the part back, that way we can track the package and see when it was received to our warehouse. Once the part has been received it takes 7-10 business days to process the refund. If there is no tracking number there is no way to see when or if it was received to our warehouse until the refund has been applied.
