The seller has gone to great lengths to make sure she has exceptional lines that support the journey she started out doing with that very 1st litter many years ago. She is working on trying to provide a pick of litter free of charge if buyer can amend, remove all negative reviews to prove that she has moved on from the unfortunate experience that some times happens and seller has worked hard to make sure her lines are free of any issues so buyer will have an amazing long lived healthy pup.
Will update as we get more information.

I can understand those who are angry with the outcome of their pets but my experience with Pat was wonderful. I was a breeder of bloodhounds and yes I took them to the vet knew the blood lines I did everything to the text book 2 puppies had seizures and I couldn't of prevented that I alsohad a litter that one girl had no signs of eye problems but as she got older she went through a great deal and is blind in one eye the only way to correct the problem was to cut the eye lid but it was nothing we would of known at 8 wks I find Pat as a professional who is not a puppy mill obviously some don't know the real meaning of that is. Her home was beautiful the dogs were wonderful and I will go back for more in the future. She is a dedicated breeder and a very kind and thoughtful person and my family and I are blessed to have met her and call her our friend.

My husband & I bought a cocker puppy from her last Jan 2012, we had adopted 2 cockers from shelters previously & had many health probs with both dogs even though they were loved dearly. We decided to this time buy from a credible breeder. We did very well with Penny Lane Cocker Spaniels. Our puppy is absolutly beautiful & is perfectly healthy. Not one of the usual probs cockers have with ear, eye & skin infections. I have also met someone that volunteers for a shelter here in Wisconsin that when she saw her asked if she had come from Penny Lane, I said she had, she told me she bought one from her also & was very pleased as well. If you are in the market for a cocker spaniel do your homework, make sure you understand their grooming needs & if your heart still wants one, go for it, I strongly recomend Pat at Penny Lane.

I have no idea who is this AMERY, watertwon, wi. I have never had a contract signed by an AMERY" and I do feel sorry for someone that would continue to lie and cyberbully me with unfounded reposted slander. Maybe, that is why this person does not have the phone number and address in this "report:.
My door is open to anyone that would like to see my little ranchette and sit on my sofa and talk with me about my cocker spaniel puppies, my favorite topic.
We can spread out a blanket and play with the fluffy little babies, and see if there is one that might capture your heart.
there are no cockerspaniels in wisconsin that are "suffering". that are a result of a litter that was born by me, to my KNOWLEDGE.
A puppy is a living creature, that might need surgery to correct an issue sometime in their life, but if a competed vet handles the surgery, this should not be an issue to do any slander by cyber bullying.
MY PHONE NUMBER IS 920-563-3410 and I am hoping that someone that understands cyber bullying, and understands that this cyber bullying maybe is even doneby a competitor,
that they would at least come and see for theirself and visit my home and perhaps call some of my references on my website.

I prefer appointments, due to my many doctor appointments because of my lupus, but if someone would simply like to stop by unannounced, that would be ok with me too.

I HAVE NOTHING TO HIDE and I would love an opportunity to speak with an "amery".

I know at one time Pat loved the breed and I am sure she still does. Yes she has had some healthy puppies and for you, you got lucky. For the large numbers of puppies (1000s as her rebuttal says in the last 38 years) I am surprised she doesnt have more complaints then this. In a sick sense for a puppy mill she ahs done well but responsible breeders have none of this. Do you have complaints like this, no so that has to say something? There are many other forums and reviews about Pat. Some are good from recently purchased puppies. My 1st cocker seemed very healthy the first 13 months of his life but I had to put him to sleep from glaucoma and the PRA in April, received my replacement cocker form her in May, he was
faced with 2 cherry eye surgeries with in two months of getting him and then it was noticed he was having issues with his lens in both eyes. He had one surgery to correct the worst one and had the other surgery planned as soon as the other healed. He passed away at 10 MONTHS of age. I notified Pat with the issues with both dogs, never got I am sorry. In the two and years that I first dealt with Pat I have two heartaches but the worst part was I lost them both with in 7 MONTHS time. The last thing I was told was to get over it these are not dolls on shelves and that these things happen. The cocker breed in general has many health issues but I have never heard anyone loose two dogs in 7 months time with things that could have been prevented by not over breeding, breeding back to your own stock, and proper testing for genetic issues. I am sure she never contacted the owners of the siblings that had these health issues to make sure they were spayed/neuter as well as the adults to prevent it from being carried further in her lines. She was emailed copies of the documentation and given them as well when she requested them. I am sure her current puppy buyers have healthy puppies to start with as she claims she has down sized on her property which would be good as she had a shed like building that was filled with dogs and puppies in small cages. She always has a few in her house to show you how gorgeous her dogs looked but those are not the ones that had the puppies.
The other complaints and reviews that have been done about her on other forums are just an idea (these are done by many other people and in different states) of what she has produced with issues in the past. Maybe she is finally back on track (current stock is from the old stock), But what I know from my personal experience and have heard from others and read that she has had a large number of dogs die between ages 5-7 and they have dealt with many health issues with in a few years of having them, which werent caused by careless owners but poor breeding. That time frame for those ages falls around the time she was sick, then she should have stopped breeding and that is also during the time frame when many have complained about the conditions of her property, the puppies and dogs, and she lost several young horses as well. I hope for the cocker breed and for those that continue to support her they do get healthy puppies but I dont think it is a coincidence that she has had so many complaints from unhappy customers. Most of them have gone to AKC, the police department, the humane society and the even gone to court but State of Wisconsin has no man power to carry out the current laws for animal abuse, neglect and puppy mills, Her contract covers her as the seller but State of Wisconsin doesnt have much to back the buyer we have had no other choice to make statements on place like rip-off reports. AKC has a full report on both of dogs but I was informed it was a civil matter. I wasnt too concerned in the beginning because I thought with her years of experience I would be getting a great healthy dog that would be with me for many years not too mention the $900 I paid. When I had to put the 14 month old to sleep I was understanding but when I came home to find my 10 month old DEAD in his X pen that I spent so much money on surgeries and had him in 4 manner classes to help him become a well socialized canine citizen and recover from his rough start of his first 4 months. He was doing so well in class too but during his short 6 months with me he went through 3 surgeries and would have had his fourth if he didnt die suddenly. I am sure GOD knew what was best for this little guy.
I just cant sit back and dismiss the cold hearted remark from Pat and the time and effort that I spent with both of them. My entire family nieces and nephews loved those dogs, I cant have kids and these were my babies and still are even if there are only my heart, memories and photos. I just dont want to see some one else go through what I did. I know many breeders and even some of the puppy mills that were investigated have far less complaints here and on the internet so everyone can rebuttal and say you had or have a healthy puppy but just as many that have had healthy ones there are still those that havent. In one of the links below in January a gentlemen lost a 5 year old from genetic health issues. So those that still have young dogs and you want to breed, better think twice as you have no clue what your puppy is carrying from Pat's old blood lines. Those that still have young dogs or just got puppies can still have (that hasn't showed up yet) genetic issues or are carriers of genetic issues. Most genetic issues show up between ages 3 -4 by then you may have had several litters of puppies which you maybe accountable for. In the case of my boys (Amery and Alex) they developed them alot sooner. Dr collins stated that with Amery that it was the worst he has ever seen and not to mention in a dog at 14 months.
All I wanted was a SORRY, what can I do to help make this pain go away from Pat. I lost my boys in with in 7 months from each other. I went far and beyond to give them everything and had them in classes to make them the best cockers they could be. How many of us have heard I had a cocker and it was nasty when I was a kid, or my aunt had a mean black one. I wanted mine as therapy dog to make the cocker breed a better name instead I got to genetically sick cockers who I lost before the age of 2 and 1. I wasnt one of those owner who did nothing but feed and tie it out side. I loved them like my kids and everyone else that has had a complaint on here loved there as well. That is why we posted on here as we have no where else to go. Had Pat handled all of these complaints better with out lies, stories or cold heart remarks we wouldnt be to this point. We wouldnt be on here.

The humane society has a huge binder filled with complaints and documentation but they didnt have man power or humane officers to handle these issues.
Now I am sorry just wont do anymore as it is easy for any one to say I am sorry and they never mean it. The pain that they both went through just wont be covered by a I am sorry bandaid anymore.

I have dealt with Black Knight Kennels for over 15 years. The puppies I bought were all healthy, and well-behaved. I have also used the studs at Black Knight Kennels, and Penny Lane Kennels. I found the facility to be clean, and all puppies healthy and engaging. Sincerely, Puppy Grandma

Pat, I am sorry you are off in la la land, I lost two cockers from you and it was only in a matter of two and years, none of it was my fault. I will not leave a number as you harrass those that complain and I had tried to get the issues corrected. You have had workers complain about you and your conditions of your poperty and animals. You also lost young horses at very young ages. While I was there two out of the three of the times you were dealing with their death and trying to find a different palce to get it's body. You may only have 4 house dogs with you but you have asked many of your puppy buyers to breed back to your dogs and you would take money of the purchase price or let them sell one puppy for themself. Which is how genetic issues occur and continue.
If this is slander then why is that several vets in Watertown have said every dog from your kennel that has come in has health issues and genetic issues, what about all the other complaints on here. They aren't from me.
Why is this out in on the internet, if it is slander. http://national.citysearch.com/review/11046151?reviewId=18043801 - this wasn't by me either as I am not and never was a worker there, had I been I would have taken photos and caused issues alot sooner.
i "worked" for pat rockstroh and she is a murderer she is a puppy mill and her animals not only the dogs live no type of life ......i hope like she shot the one dog in the head she could maybe feel 1/2 that pain he did before the bullet got him....rip paradise you big choc. boy that is not the only dogs suffering there....creme puff i know your ears hurt and they run red and she still breeds you and makes you stay in them cages and leaves you wet and stinky.....i vow never to forget you and i will never stop trying to stop this cruel treatment..... i have more stories i have photos i have talked to the police and DNR and AKC she gets around them every time some how....i have seen her move puppies from one mom and dad with a different mom and they get papers under that mom not the real one...her pedigrees are a lie she does inbreed and she don't have no training done or they are not raised with kids all her kids are grown and till the day the pups go home they are in a cage they sleep in a outside kennel where water is shot at them why the "worker" clean the place!! with bleach and other harsh chemicals.....i can go on and on but for what people don't stop listening to her lies and keep buying from her i have many witness to all this please please hear me when i say don't do business with this lady!
My 1st cocker Dr collins saw at the eye specialists clinic (EVS at the time). He went completely blind in one eye and the other was more then half. This all had happened in the matter of two weeks when I noticed something was wrong and took him to my regular vet. When I had set up the appointment because my vet was concerned but wasn't sure what it was as he was only 14 months old. No one felt is was a rush to get him in sooner. Dr collins gave me two choices as my 1st cocker was in a lot of pain from glaucoma and the PRA made him blind, I should either remove his eyes or humanely put him to sleep as he has never seen a young dog like this have this much going on with him. Must of his dogs that he sees were 10-14 years not months. You were contacted as soon as this happen and I was told to do what was best and that I could get a "replacement", My replacement was a choice of 4 dogs that you picked. 2 were returned dogs back to you, A puppy that wasn't weaned yet and one that was a little to shy for comfort as my 1st cocker was so loved he went every where with me including when I got my hair cut he was awesome personality but he suffered with his health. He was 2 weeks away from getting his CGC cert when he was put to sleep as his quality of life was never going to be the same as he was so scared from going blind so fast that he nipped at everyone. I could never take him places again. My neices loved him and he loved them as well. He wasn't allowed near them any more.
My "replacement puppy" was a 4 month old that the lady lost her job. For two weeks after I got him he paced the house, would never lay down, freaked out while he was in the crate. I finally called you and found out that the real reason he was exchanged was because his current owner worked two jobs and she couldn't handle the way he was. After hearing that I went and got him a X-pen and he was already inrolled into class so I knew in time with help from WWCDTC in Ixonia we would get through this. About a month after that I was faced with his first eye surgery, then a month later another(these weren't life threating but costly as they were cherry eye), at his recheck his regular vet had referred me back to Dr collins. Dr collins found both cherry eye repairs to be healed but was unsure what was causing the issue with his lens. He repaird the worse one and planned on repairing the second once the other was healed, I came home to home DEAD at the age of 10 months. When I called you after his third eye surgery I was told " to GET over it because these are not dolls on shelves and these things just happen" You won't give money back as it states in your contract and some how every one that has taken you to court and manange to get a pat on the back. So my only option was to get another "replacement" for what to have another heartache and watch another of your dogs have an early death. I paid $900 for my 1st dog thinking that papers and at that price I was getting a quality dog one that would live to be old and grey, what was I thinking.
When I was there to get my "replacement" I saw a puppy I wanted but you informed me that entire litter was spoken for. Two weeks later I got an email that you mass emailed to others of that same litter stating if any one was interested please contact you ASAP as they will go quick. Maybe you should have let me have one of those maybe it would have been healthy and we wouldn't be here but for what ever reason I ended up with my poor boy who I loved dearly and we worked so hard on his issues and to loose him so suddenly hurts. He finalaly was able to relax and be a normal dog when I lost him. At least my 1st cocker I was there to say good bye and comfort him but I will never know if he suffered. I know he suffered with all the surgeries and god knew best. It was decided not to find out why as I was never coming back for a third.
As for the family that lost a sick puppy from you in 2008, I ran into them at the dog Park in Jefferson with their cute little puppy that they got in Fox point. That was when they informed me they had lost a cocker 6 months prior. I asked where they got it from and that was when I was horrified that it was from you.
Other breeders and the cocker rescues that I have talked to are not shocked when I tell them what my cockers went through and how much it still hearts to this day.
No slander Pat, I am not the only that has had issues with you. Jefferson County Humane Society has a huge binder on you and I keep praying that now we have several Humane Ofiicers that your time will come and the rest of them in your care will get a well deserves pampered life. You stated your partner has one of your top of line, which means you plan on breeding back to her. The merle color can be a tricky one to breed and considering your health track record makes it worse.

After 38 years of loving and caring for cocker spaniels, I feel sad for whoever wrote this article. I did not get into the cocker spaniel dog business because I did not like dogs. I am totally in love with this breed, and want my puppies to go into good homes with a family, kids, and other animals and also have them experience all of the good times and comfort that these dogs are bred to do --24/7.
Due to some vary serious health issues that I have experience since 2005,
I have had to downsize my dream of producing pretty little cocker spaniel puppies.
I only own 4 house dogs. They are beautiful housepets and 3 of them are registered for stud service. So now I occasionally plan a litter with one of my partners, that have taken ownership of a top of the line breeder quality female.
This has been a lot of fun for my partner, me and the new puppy owner. Since cocker spaniels are living creatures - surely along the way, something can happen, just like with humans and babies. This does not mean a crime has been committed. It is a fact of life - and- HOPEFULLY that someone would call me and try to come up with a solution, with the advise of my vet.
If I don't get that call, how will I know if something went wrong.
Look at this article for instance, NO NAME, NO ADDRESS, NO PHONE NUMBER, NO WRITTEN DOCUMENTATION TO BACK UP HER STORY.
and "ripoff.com" does allow these lies and stories to be published by some disgruntled person without written documentation and a phone number.
Ripoff. com should be published as a seedy business with a seedy website.
Being a business owner, there are always 2 sides to every story. So anyone that has a problem with anything concerning one of my puppies, my door is open and telephone number and my address is the same. 920-563-3410 and I would like to hear the story and try to figure out a solution.
Like I said - I did not decide to raise dogs because I dislike dogs. The time and the money spent to make a litter of pups happen is tremendous.
I literary have 1000's of happy customers and references that will attest to this ---available upon request.
And I would love to talk with avery - whoever she is -- my number is 920-563-3410.
and before anyone should spread gossips and lies, maybe they should take a look at their own lives.
