I was solicited by Patriot Van Lines to assist with my move from Dallas, Texas to Columbus, Ohio.  They had agreed upon a pick up date off 08.31, they never showed up.  I had a plane ticket to Columbus for 09.01.11, so I had to leave my furniture behind.  When the movers finally did call my parents had to driver 420 mile round trip to meet them at my former residence to have my belongings picked up.  My goods were to be delivered in 10 days.  After 12 days I began calling and I got the run around from the get go.  On 8 different occasions they told me my furniture would be delivered.  I would take off work and wait around an empty apartment only to be disappointed that they never showed up.  Finally on 09.29.11 "A" mover showed up.  He was alone and told me if I wanted my furniture unloaded I would have to help off load the truck.  He had my couch and antique headboard wrapped in blankets, but after two hours we finally had the furniture unloaded.  Before I could catch him, he took off.

I unwrapped the blanket from my handwoven wood sofa to discover that it was covered in grease.  I immediately went up stairs to my great grandmothers headboard unwrapped it only to discover it was destroyed.  I had at least 5 broken Ansel Adams photos that were destroyed, antique glass destroyed, and was missing 3 boxes.  One containing 150 dvd's and a second containing 50 dvd and a brand new Kerburg Coffee maker.  As I started going through the remaining boxes, several of the boxes didn't even belong to me.  The lost my expensive fake plant, lost a tribal cane I got from Africa and destroyed my fan.  I called them to tell them that someone else's furniture was left at my house.  They could have cared less.  In fact one month later it is still sitting in my closet.  I had to go to the doctor as I pinched a nerve in my back while unloading the couch, and have filed a claim with Patriot Van Lines.  Bascially, they just blew me off and told me they had 120 days to decide if I was owed anything, while I get to sit in an home with broken, busted furniture and a 170.00 doctor bill.
