I am Rose and the instructor who taught the young man who did not pass his driving test. I have trained many students of which I truly enjoy and have great respect for them. My students and parents have been so pleased with my behind the wheel training that they have given my name to other students and parents. In fact when calling the school they ask for me personally.
I take great pride and responsibility for what I do and teach each child in all areas of driving as well a what they will be tested on. This is not a job for me, I understand that I am teaching the next generation of drivers. Why would I not teach this child like the others? The mother herself states that he failed in only one area. This happens and is why the DMV give each student three time to test. It is sad that this student feels compelled to say that I did not teach him to back up. They did not state that I did not teach him to park? Backing up goes with the parking, why would I stop with just the parking. I would say that the student was just a bit shaky, this happens, its a test.
As to the mothers reference to Paula the owner of First Defense Driving School I wish she truly knew her this is the most wonderful caring women I have ever met. She really does care for each student and I have witnessed these students come over to her outside of her office giving her hugs and saying that they have given her name to others.
As for the certificate, I had a student just prior to this student and wrote the wrong name on the certificate. I saw it and called the next day to explain what happen and to set up a time to go and exchange the certificate. The mothers voice mail was full, so I call the student, at 11 am and he was not fully awake and not understanding what I was saying. I called back later, to make arrangement, to come over or leave with his mother or even under a door mat, at would come back to get the other. He said he or his mother were not available and no there was no where to leave the certificate. I asked that he call me to set up a time for me to do this. His mother then called the school saying I gave the wrong certificate, the son did not tell her I had called. I call the mother who said that her son did not tell her. I had to track the son down via cell let him know I would be at his house after school to give him the right certificate I knew he had his test the next day and was concerned and wanting to get the right certificate to him.
As for the statement of being disable, I do not dispute this, but I do want to state that her son told me that the reason he needed to get his license was because his mother was getting tired of getting up to take him to school, of which he said he has been driving a lot of the times. With this said I was told by her that he has been driving for a long time, now keep in mind I just signed his permit to make it legal for him to drive on the day I first took him driving.
It appears to me that there is a failure to communicate in this family.... Oh and one more thing, Paula did call the mother to set up the appointment for the training the mother did not call her back. Paula has been in this business for over 20 years, she would not or would I do anything to cheat anyone, we strive to be the best, that is why her school has the honor of having the highest passing rate.
