Take it from me, DO NOT trust Paypal to recover funds when you have been ripped by a fraudalent seller (theives) on Ebay. You will lose nothing but time and more of your money. Paypal's customer service representatives are absolute LIARS. I placed a bid for a laptop that EbAY seller: swilling1 described as a, "BRAND NEW Dell XPS M1210-STILL IN BOX."

Unfortuantely, after waiting 2 weeks I recived a totally different computer. So, I proceeded to contact the seller and advise them this was not the item advertised and I am requesting a full refund. I did not trust the seller at this point to refund me my money so I decided to place a dispute with Ebay/Paypal. That's the most logical thing to do right ? Especially, after corresponding with the seller for 2 whole weeks inquiring about, why had not I received my laptop if and my payment was made less than 24 hrs after I won the item. This is the response I received from Ebay:

Customer concern: The seller advertised a "BRAND NEW Dell XPS

M1210-STILL IN BOX (170032319374)." My payment was made throught penpal on Septmeber 25,2006 for the DELL XPS M1210. On October 7,2006 I finally received the package this computer was a Dell Latitude D420. This is not

the computer that the seller advertised. I have emailed the seller and requested a full refund. There is no telephone number posted for the seller. I have saved all emails inquiring about shipping that I sent to

the seller.

After shipping the seller back the computer, contacting PAYPAL to advise them I did so and providing a tracking number and waiting weeks. I received this:

This is the maximum amount covered by PayPal. If your claim was for more than the amount recovered, the outstanding balance is due from the seller

You're angry at the wrong people

You should be complaining about the seller, not ebay or paypal. First of all, you bought an item from a guy with a '1' feedback rating. Never do that. NEVER. Next, you paid for this item with your bank account. Next time, use a credit card via Paypal, that way, you can dispute the transaction. Another mistake was shipping the item back to seller. Now you have no computer, and are out about $900.00.
