I just read a report here that said PAypower is a rip off. I couldn't agree more. As the other person mentioned, paypower frequently de lines transactions for no good reason. In my case, I pay the $3.95 to load the card, then when I go to useit the card gets declined.

I'm forced to pay absorbanent fees when I'm forced to make an ATM withdrawal at the closest bank when I have. No other way to pay the restaurant bill (for example), and then when I call Paypower they charge me another fee to speak with someone.

When it's all said and done, I should have just stuck with cash, saved myself a lot of aggravation, avoided many additional steps like loading the card, then withdrawing at an ATM, and then having to contact customer service only to have them blame it on the merchant. And I'd save about $10 in fees each time this happens.

Add in the monthly service fees and I end up burning about $30-$40 a month without ever really getting to use the card and having to be embarrassed and frazzled each time the card gets declined. Use your ATM card. It's easier and works on the same principal. You're trying to spend your own money not money borrowed from these folks. It's absurd.

We apologize for any inconvenience you have experience with your PayPower card.  Regarding the concerns, that you describe, let me explain you the following :

We have several fees apply to the card such as:  the monthly maintenance fee of $5.95, the ATM fee to withdraw money of $1.95, the loading fee of $3.95 that vary by retailer among other fees that are describe on the terms and conditions of the card.   But we dont charge a fee to speak with customer service and the fee charged by the ATM is from the side of the bank that holds the ATM.

For your second concern when you authorize a transaction and then fail to make the purchase the approval may result in a hold for that amount of funds for up to 10 days.  Some restaurants and some other service-oriented merchants may factor in an additional 20% (or more) to cover
any tip you may leave on the purchase.  If this occurs, and your total bill, after adding in the additional 20% (or more), exceeds the amount available in your card, your transactions will be
decline.  Accordingly, you may want to ensure that your card account has an available balance that is 20% (or more) greater than your total bill prior using your card.

If you need further information about  the fees of the card or how the card works you can find it in the terms and conditions, or you can visit our website www.paypower.com .  Well be happy to further assist you.  Please call or email the contact information provided below or if youd prefer you can also use the email form provided on our website.
