First of all My credit rating was a perect 10. Then I got laid off in June of 2002.
I was having trouble paying all my creditors, so I got online and PBS contacted me. So I go through all the steps to get what I thought to help me get financial freedom and they had me to send them a list of all my creditors.
Meanwhile I am only drawing $268 a week signing up. This had to make my house payment. PBS was to notify all creditors about my situation. This is after I pay them $750 to get started. I had to send them power of attorney to send to all of them.
Anyway PBS tells me I need to let the ATV 4-wheel go back. They did not notify HRS that I was laid off and could not make payments. So HRS comes and reposses the ATV.
When they came to pick it up, in Oct., I finally got a job in Miami, Fl. which is 900 miles from home. HRS sends American Towing & Recovery-444 Riverside Dr., Asheville, NC 28801 to repocess the ATV. Well my wife was here by herself and Jim Wilson who is the Field Manager of this towing Co. proceeds to tell my wife the I Will Be locked up and she tells him I'm working in Miami and so he told her that they would have me picked up there.
So she calls me on the job crying and scared to death. We get with PBS about this problem and nothing was resolved. I lost my ATV.
Now from the time I bought the ATV new I paid $5400 and made payments every month since 8-30-2000. The interest rate went from a 13.00%, 2 year promotion to 21.99% without me knowing it would go this high when I signed the contract which did not say what it would go to.
Now when I get laid off in June of 2002, my Balance is still $5509.91. Now my bill for Jan. 2003 they want me to pay a balance of $6663.23 and I don't even have the ATV.
I just don't understand me paying $94 a month up til I got laid off why I still owe more than I Paid for The ATV to start with. Also they don't even acknowledge That I don't have the ATV any longer due to PBS and HRS not helping me.
I would appreciate if you could help me on this situation, since my perfect credit is shot due HRS and PBS mislandling this situation since I paid them up front for their serices. Money I had to get out of my IRA for future retirement.
