Peak Financial Services, Stephen Cerrone, contacted me about a debt I had with Providian.I had gotten a credit card to increase my credit score, but I ended up losing my job and got behind. When he contacted me we agreed on a payment of $50 a month to be taken from my account on the 15th. of the month.(I had a $300 credit limit with Providian.) The few times he contacted me, I requested all of the information pertaining to this debt.He always told me he'd send it and never did.Unfortunately, I didn't listen to my wifes repeated requests that I stop payment ,until he sent the paperwork.I was trying to clean up the credit score to buy a home and didn't want to "rock the boat".It's now been between 6 and 7 years of him getting his money(maybe more, I've lost track and haven't gone back that far w/ the bank yet.) and I Have Had Enough! He has collected approximately $3,900 (maybe a lot  more) on a $300 debt.He told me I owed years of interest, and now, recently,my wife researched credit card debt and it is to our understanding they cannot charge you interest on a credit card debt..It does say some states can, but only until a payment arrangement had been made. Either way, it isn't the point. In ALL OF THOSE YEARS my bill has never gone down. Interest ,according to him.Rip-Off according to us.How does he have the right to keep adding interest(or whatever he's doing).I just recieved a letter(for the first time  since I was originally contacted about the debt) , It says they will no longer be acceptin payments from credit/debit cards, all future payments must be made in the form of a check or a money order. Finally, I am looking for help.I did not send a payment this month, but I haven't recieved a letter stating that I'm late. Please Advise! Can I recoup this money or is he in the right?

Ok, I just looked up the law in AZ regarding credit card collection. It says they can only try to collect the debt for 3 years, then it just goes on your credit report. This was way more than 3 years before I agreed to a payment plan.Is what I read true? Can I collect back the "interest payment", if not it all? Actually, as long as the credit card company got their money, then I don't want the $300 back.I want that debt paid. I do want the thousands of dollars back though, if it is due to me.
