Car died all of a sudden without warning lights or error messages. Mechanic determined water pump weep hole defective caused a sudden coolant drain and simultaneous engine overheat all within minutes while highway driving. coasted off the highway with no power and smoking engine. Submitted claim to Penn Warranty Company, with response, that they acknowledge and will cover water pump ($300.00), but will not cover replace of engine ($5,200.00) detroyed by defective water pump. This is analogous to paying for a bandaid but not to set the broken bone. if you acknowledge the cause of the malfunction the consequencial effects of that defect should obviously be covered as well. This is all too often how teh public get sjilted after trying to do teh right and prudent thing by repeatedly paying for additional insurance , but cheated out of justified coverage. I'm devestated and at my wits end, overwhelmed by the injustice.
