Penn Warranty Corporation Or Secured Capitial Car Warranty Rip Off!! Totaled Car and told pro-rated refund was no prob, then got run-around!! Wilkes Barre Pennsylvania
Hi,
I got a 3 year Gold Bumper to Bumper Auto extended warranty contract from this company. I had my vechile for 2 and a half months before it was totalled in a accident. I called Penn Warranty company or "Secured Capital" and asked about a refund. I talked with 3 different representatives that said it would be no problem getting a pro-rated refund. I just needed to prove that the car was totalled. Fair enough, so I called my insurance agent and asked them to send me a copy of the accident report. I sent it to Penn and thats when the run around and absurd answers i got from them started. First they said that the insurance company re-imbursed me for my 3rd party warranty. Which is absurd, no insurance company will re-imburse you for a 3rd party warranty, and Penn Warranty company should be well aware of that being as established as they are. Absurd as it may sound I offered to show proof From my insurance company stating that they only paid the value of the vehicle, which is what auto insurance companies due. It doesn't matter if they gave me a million dollars, it has nothing to due with a 3rd party warranty. Next they sent me something that said the contract states that there will be no refund for early terminations????? First no where in my contract does it state that, plus the fact is how can you warranty a car that is not there??? Secondly, why was it that the 3 or 4 correspondenses that I had with their associates said that it was covered and it would be no problem. I've never filed a complaint with anyone about anything, I just go frustrated with them, and how untrustworthy and corrupt they can be. I like dealing with reputable companies that are fair, not ones that will make up any excuse not to give up a fair refund. I only asked for my fair pro-rated return and they are playing the big corpoarte, corrupt company role. I would stay far away from this company or any of their affiliates!!!! BUYER BEWARE
