People Data Ripoff charged me 4 times for a service I did not get Simi Valley California
On or about the 5th of December 2004 I tried to get my fathers address and phone number, I had not seen him for over 10 years. The people Data offer came up with some results but said it would be a flat fee to get all the results for that name in the state I was looking for. I decided to try it, well the first attempt said my card info had a problem so I tried 3 more times after I was prompted by their site to try again. So a total of 4 times I tried with a denial of my card each time. After this I decided to check my card account and found that a $40 hold had been placed by People data, I imediately E-mailed them and was sent a reply saying that was normal and that the charge would drop off in a day or two. The very next day I checked and the $40 had been withdrew from my card and paid to the People Data service, so again I wrote them and got no response at all, I then wrote to the attorney general of the state I am in with the complaint and the BBB in Poeple Datas area, I have yet to hear anything from them. I think that all the net access companies should be held responsible just as much as People Dat for allowing this to continue after multiple problems by this company.
