I too had a similar experience with peoplepc after i agreed to try them for 1 month free,I found that i did not like their service because it was actually alot slower than my old dial-up service. I called them within the approiate time frame to cancel but they did not want to let me go. I explained to them that i did not like their service and in fact was actually switching to a high speed provider, after i explained this i felt i might be getting somewhere but that's when the call took a turn for the worst i was passed on to another operator whos sole purpose in life is to keep poeple from leaving the companyand by this i mean she offered me every deal under the sun and even tried to quote prices from the competiton. After all of her attempts to keep me as a costumer failed she than become very upset and actually told me I KNOW HOW MUCH YOU ARE GOING TO PAY FOR YOUR OTHER SERVICE AND FOR OUR CANCELLATION FEE AND I AM NOT GOING TO LET YOU DO THAT. and with that she hung up.I stood in disbelief as i tried to tell my self what had just happened. Now bear in mind that this was before the free month ended so what the hell was she talking about a cancellation fee for and who did she think she was talking to.I called right back and got another this time i didn't even allow her time to speak i told her everything that had just happened and demanded my account be cancelled before the 30 day trial was over and that i didnt even care if i had to pay a$50 cancellation fee,i didnt want anything else to do with those people. Not only did she cancel the account but i was never charged for anything. To let people know how bad i think their service was i only had it for a week. DO NOT sign up with this company.
