Pep Boys # 0788 ripoff tricked and lied to us about a carburater Abilene Texas
I paid $184.01 for a remanufactured carburater. It was not available at the time, so they had to have one sent to their store location via ups truck by that Friday. This was Dec. 04, on a Tuesday. The carburater still had not come in to their store by that Friday.It came on the 10th. or 11th., and I drove the 60 miles to Abilene on the 13th. and picked it up.
We opened the box inside the store, it was wrapped in plastic, so just let it be. I put it on the pick-up the next day, gas coming all out from underneath it, flooded my motor really bad. I go buy another new gasket and put my old carburater back on the pick-up.
I put the Pep Boy's carb. back into the original box and take it back to them for a refund on Dec. 23. The guy at the front desk takes it to the main guy in the back of the building. The Main Guy comes back to the front desk and claims that the carburater is damaged.
He says some one has been beating on the back of it and a screw was broke off in one of the backside holes.All I did was put the thing on & off my pickup. But he is making it appear that I DID the damage. For all I know,THEY switched carburaters in the back of the store! I am very pissed off that they refused to refund my money for their DEFECTIVE carburater!!
