I was hired on May 2007 by Maria Rivera; HR Human Resourses Manager of the cook plant in Perry, GA. to perform Interview and Hiring Employees. I was Very Happy In my new job as Human Resourses Representative.
Until I notice that I was being trained to Violate the EEOC law and I quote;
If you notice that a woman is pregned, DON'T hire them because they will not be able to pass the probationary period.
At the time of the enterview try to be friendly and get as much information posible from the candidates such as family status, as if they are single parents more than one's they will be absent to take care of they kids and it will not be fair to our Supervisors and our production to have an absent employee.
Dont hire Womans to our positions in the warehouse, but if you do make sure that they have muscular body to ensure that they will be able to perform.
If an employee become a problem by complaining several times to the Human Resourses department or the supervisor in charge of such one ask for a reason to fire them, go ahead and try to find some thing on they files ; such as points, warnings or other reason to fire them and ovoid any posible liability.( I SEEN THIS HAPPEN)
Then after the training I started hiring but ingnoring such Unethical Behavior by people acting on behalf of Perdue Farms Inc.
It is hard even for me as a woman to disting what if a woman is pregned or not "several of us got belly fat; There for it is imposible to tell if a woman is or not pregned so ingnoring my trainer I hired a lady which latter on find out that was pregned :) , She stated single mother andto me " I NEED A JOB, I NEED TO PROFF TO MY PAROLE OFFICER AND TO MY SOCIAL WORKER THAT I AM CAPABLE TO HOLD A JOB FOR AT LEAST SIX MONTHS, PLEASE I AM ALREADY LOST ONE OF MY CHILDS WITH IN THE SISTEM AND NOW I CAN'T GO BACK HOME, LOOK MY SON FACE AND TELL HIM THAT MAMA COULN'T DO EVERY THING THAT WAS POSIBLE TO KEEP HIM WITH ME, PLEASE I HADD ALREADY LOOK EVERY WERE"., So Ingnoring my trainer recomendations, I had hired this pregned, single mom and in Probation for a production position, which later on pass the probationary period and become a lead member and remain there.( How I know this Because I seen her again ans she thank me for it)...Like this case I hire many of them with in my Profesional Ethical Moral.
This sure cost me my head the Area Manager MR Garry Miller was there and I dont know what my trainer had told him but he sure look mad at me so from that moment my EX Manager Maria Rivera detested me from that moment, and it was obvious to all.
We even see the Nurse back then., Sharing confidential information to my Ex Beloved Boss Maria Rivera; Whater they had a workers comp claim, an Illnes or medical condition which automatically will disqualify them to work for the plant as it will not be profitable to hire sick people, and we even knew if they did pass the drug test by the own words of the cain Nurse.
Then she had tried several tacktics to upset and harassme enough to "leave", such as going to another Perdue Plant in to my Husband files and search for any information that she may use against me, even pull out my ITIN number off and acuse me of being an Illigal Alien which is not true, even know they had verify my status before they had hired me.
But I like my job and continue to do it with in my best and simply try to avoid confrontation. This last week however my manager brought me in her office and told me that I could no longer remain in her department because my sister was there too but she knew that at the time of my hiring., However she offered me another position in the same Human Resourses department but on the floor's as HR trinee.,"wait a minute isn't it the same department?.
After I refuse it then she offered me another position as Plant Assistant Manager stating that the lady she had just hired wasn't capable of holding such a position and I quote; I will fire megan and then you will be given this position by me but I refuse it, the same way she was getting rid of Megan she could do it to me too still and there for I was told either to report to the position previously offered or not got back at all., I could had exepted such a position but it was for the weekends only Friday, Saturday and Sunday and tha was not previously stated on my enterview.
Latter on I was hire by QSI a contractor company that is in charge of the entire Sanitation of the Plant as an Assistant Manager, Mean while my Ex Boss was making my sister life miserable.
I started working hard for QSI, The Vincit Group, and my sucess lead me to become a Manager with a very satisfactory feedback, untill one morning on one of our corporate meetings My Ex Boss found me out side of the meeting office and ask me whom had allowed me to enter in to the plant, then I told her that I been working there, Then a few Perdue Farms Manager's impresed by my Performance offered me a position with in the plant as one of they supervisor's with a better pay, than the one I was making, However they were told by my Ex Boss Maria Rivera that while I worked for her my work performance was poor which was not true as I was Allways on time, Respectfull, Cain and even after all the discriminatory and retaliatory practice she had made to me I never retailated against her.
Then from the very moment she found out abouth me being sucessfull in the plant on or around November , she retaliated agains my sister kellie by fireing her, acusing her of several things that she had previously ask her to do and making her enviroment soo hostil that had made her even cry some times, even tryed to bring criminal charges to her and take her kids away."""TALKING ABOUTH A PSICO""", and started a plan to get me out of Perdue Farms Inc.,again and complain abouth me with QSI, Vincit Group my current employer back then and even LIED to them by telling them that I was treatning some one so I was told on 01/01/2007.
So I was ordered by my area manager Ryan to leave the premises of the plant and remain away from it and got placed on a unrequested leave for four months and latter on I was offered to be transfered to another plant 100 miles away from my home.
As for now I found out that Maria Rivera's department is so in fire that the good people that get hired by her to her department dont even last six monts."SO IS THIS HER PROBLEM OR ALL THOSE FIFTY PEOPLE'S THAT HAD WALKED THERE AND END UP COPLAINING OF MISSLEADING AND HOSTIL WORK ENVIROMEN" and just imagine that if the ones that lead this plant's in Perry, GA promote unlawfull and hostille work enviroment, I majine how you can waist you time triying to achive some thing you will never have unles you become part of the friends of the friends of the faamily......That's how things roll in this place and the entire comunity of Perry, GA know this know.
As for Perdue Farms Inc, what goes around comes around and as of 03/01/2010.
Business have not been so profitable and had lost few contracts. " I WONDER IF THE WAY THEY TREAT GOOD PEOPLE HAD SOME THING TO DO WITH THIS"
We all pray that better things will come to our Beloved Town of Perry GA.
