Perini Plumbing & Mechanical Contractors Advertises Bogus Positions Scams People To Buy Sager CTE Manual Sylmar, California
There is a company called Perini Plumbing & Mechanical Contractors that are advertising Electrician, Plumbing, and HVAC Apprenticeship positions. This is a scam-there are no jobs-they are well entrenched all over the web-it looks legitimate-but after you jump through all the hoops they never ever contact you and their phone line is always busy.
Reports are being filed now by people who have experienced all this. Apparently, they are preying on the unemployed. They contact you and have you fill out an employment application (they have my SS# and BD) and then they contact you and indicate you must take this 100 question exam to get an on-site interview. They send a link to 2 sites where you are advised to pay for and download the CTE Exam Study Guide by Sager Products. Only one link works the www.clickbank.com site. I have every e-mail they sent me and here is the site they sent where I downloaded the manual; which, I paid for with my PAYPAL.
I have contacted the Chicago Police Department and the Illinois Attorney General's Office regarding identity theft since they have my SS# and BD on the application I filled out. The BBB rates Perini as an F. They do not respond to customer complaints. I also reported this as a FAKE website to PayPal. I am reporting them to www.indeed.com and to Buddy Board.
When they contact you about the exam they tell you passing it is the central criteria for being hired; and, if you want to do well and have a chance at a face-to-face interview, then you will purchase the manual. They tell you the exam was prepared by Sager.
They tell you Sager created the exam. They explain that you are not obligated to buy it ; however, if you want to pass the test you will purchase it. I HAVE EVERY COMMUNICATION AND E-MAILED SAVED IN A FOLDER. This is a terrible thing to prey on unemployed people seeking jobs. I have been reading the complaints from people regarding this all day now. They have been coming in since mid February 2010.
