Philip E - Panyone Love Horse Trailer Scam, Escrow or Ebay payment, DAS Shipping Tempe Arizona
I've come across scam artists who are using www.equinehits.com and other websites to try and scam potential buyers. They list horse trailers for sale on the site, typically at a very low price.
The first one I found was ID# 31819, a 2006 Sundowner 3 horse slant for $2888. I e-mailed the "seller", philip eduard in Tempe AZ. He e-mailed back stating that he was deaf and that he wanted to use an escrow service to complete the transaction. I should wire the money into the escrow accout and he would ship the trailer using DAS. If I didn't like the trailer, then the trailer would go back, and I would get my money.
I asked for his phone number (The one on the web site was bogus), but he said he was deaf, and couldn't use the phone. I e-mailed back that I would make the trip to Tempe to look at the trailer. The trailer then mysteriously moved to Reno.
I stated that I had a friend in Reno who could look at it for me. No response from the seller.
The second instance was ID# 31002. This "seller" offered a Hart 3-horse slant. Her phone number rolled to a fax machine.
Her story was that she was divorced and living in China, and wanted to use ebay secure pay, then she would ship the trailer using DAS. When I asked for the loation of the trailer, she stopped contacting me.
Other Equinehits ads that I believe are fradualent are:
ID# 26908
ID# 27289
ID# 26170
ID# 24058
ID# 26960
ID# 19976
If it looks like a great deal, ask the following questions:
1. Exactly where is the trailer?
2. Can you give me the phone number of where the trailer is located?
Also, watch for when they respond to your e-mails. If they respond at 2:30am in your inbox, the e-mails may be coming from overseas.
