Hi. I'm a owner of a 97 Audi A8 who was ripped of by company who rebuilds a transmissions for living, well, rebuilding is not a proper word in this case. Phoenix Remanufactured Transmissions are a bunch of criminals who steals your money and let you deal on your own with the pile of junk they send you instead. If you in a market for rebuild transmission and you happened to read this, I will warn you a consequences and if you dont listen, you will suffer, trust me on this one. AVOID PHOENIX REMANUFACTURED TRANSMISSIONS (aka PRT) AT ALL COST!
I purchased rebuild transmission from this company on July 2006 just because they stated on e-bay that all rebuild transmissions are coming out of their doors are dyno tested and price was lower than quoted at the local shop. If only I knew how wrong I was by letting them do the work. I recieved rebuild transmission a months and a half later (instead of 2 weeks promised) and torque converter was missing. After waiting another month for torque converter to show up I finally had everything I need to install rebuild transmissions. Installation shop called me and told me that circulation pump was damaged and needs to be replaced. I called John and asked him to send me a new pump, he did. Now we are at a total of 4 months since the payment was made and I still nowhere close to be driving my Audi. After I got a new pump, transmission was installed back in the car just to discover that it has no reverse gear!!! Unbeliavable. At that point my patiance came to the end and I filed a complaint with BBB. All my attempts to resolve this issue with PRT and Mr. Frank C Kupperman lead to nothing after a dosens of e-mails sent and numerous phone calls, they just DO NOT respond to left messages. My current dispute case is finally at the arbitration stage where I hoping to get full refund for that junk they sent me. They selling transmissions WITHOUT DYNO TESTING THEM as they state, refusing to refund you and have the worst business practices I EVER HAD TO DEAL WITH!

I just finally had a time to read every post that made below and what I saw doesn't surprise me much. This is exactly what I observed myself from company like Phoenix Remanufactured Transmissions. One new thing I found out is that the "GOD of all transmissions", technical writer for three magazines, Frank, would have such low expertise level in his own business. I know more about my Audi than he knows about his transmissions. I dont even try call myself a guru like he does. Shame on you Frank. I'm guessing now how my BBB complait is going to turn out considering that Frank is on the board of directors. At this point I really dont care much, from now on I will do my best to REALLY show who PRT are - LIERS, THIEVES, DISHONEST, UNPROFESSIONAL, UNQUALIFIED people for the job. My next step is to make potential e-bay customers aware of this disaster, I'll do my best to reach them and point them to this site by leaving this web address in feedback field, repeatedly, over and over, month after month until people will realize how much waste of skin Phoenix Remanufactured Transmissions are actually are. I wonder if anybody would be interested in group law suit against Frank, I believe the evidence we have together is overwhelming and we perhaps could shut his doors forever, or at least make him go bankrupt. If interested please reply, I have 2 more angry customers from Audiworld forum alone!

This all after a 7 months in dispute. I tried to contact owner several times before to settle this matter but he didn't care much. Now when arbitration with Better Business Bureau is getting scheduled owner all the sudden starts to do something. He offered me refund IF I return him his transmission back and COVER the shipping charge! This is simply insane offer. I allready $3100 down just by dealing with this company + thousands in repair bills + rental cars expenses. My daily driver (my Audi A8) sits for the last 7 months!!! covered in snow. I'm driving a rental and my friend cars. Phoenix Remanufactured Transmissions is biggest thievs I seen in my life. No business on this planet should act like they do. They all nice until they get your credit card number, then they turn their back on you. AVOID AT ALL COST!
