Phone Sheriff has a very carefully constructed policy on their product which is designed to protect them, not the consumer.  They say that you must jail break an Iphone in order for their product to be installed.  They are very vague about what that means.  They say they don't advise how to do this but provide a few websites for assistance.

I used their recommended sites and was unsucessful at jail breaking a brand new Iphone.  I contacted Apple for support and they informed me that doing this would completely void the warranty and that the phone would no longer be supported by Apple.

I contacted Phone Sheriff to request a refund.  They responded but it was suddenly a company called Retinax and they don't have a live representative.  You have to submit a request online but must first request a temporary user ID and Password that you have to keep requesting with each subsequent email you send.  Retinax replied in one short sentance to my request, "No refunds will be given per the terms of the agreement".

When I got my statement of charges, there was a foreign transaction fee listed.  This company claims to be US based on their website and makes no mention of foreign transaction fees during the purchase.  This is probably why live communication is not available.

They claim that their competitors don't offer refunds either.  This is not true.  I was dealing with one prior to Phone Sheriff that I could no longer use when we upgraded to a phone that was not compatible.  They gave me a complete refund, no problems.

Buyers should be made aware of what Jail Breaking an IPhone really means before buying the product.  They make it sound like it's no biggie on their terms of agreement.  If buyers knew that it would void their entire warranty, I think it might but Phone Sheriff out of business which is why they are so careful in the way they word it.
