I rented from this gay jerk about a year ago, and he was such an egotistical maniac. First of all, I should have known something was up with a gay name like Pierre Rubben. Sounds fruity. Second of all, when I found out he was calling my references asking for judgements of my character, I was a little taken aback, but I figured hey, whatever. He made a big deal from the day we gave him the deposit about tampons and how they get stuck and ruin the plumbing and how he would not be stuck with a bill like that for something so disgusting. This made my wife really uncomfortable.

Then there were the lies- the window that wouldn't lock that he promised to fix, the closet we couldn't use because there were cans of paint left in there from when he promised to finish painting, the heater that constantly broke and he promised to fix. The list of those things went on and on.

Then there were the erratic visits all time of the day or night for no apparent reason that for what we could figure was him checking up on us. He hired felons to work on the house (I KNOW THIS FOR A FACT BECAUSE WE WERE BROKEN INTO AND THEY FOUND THE PEOPLE RESPONSIBLE- THEY WERE IDENTIFIED AS HIS WORKERS AND THEY WERE BEING PAID UNDER THE TABLE- see SHREVEPORT POLICE for more information) and had his wife and teenage daughters cleaning leaves from around the house. He was so cheap he wouldn't hire real workers, and the ones he did hire just screwed the job up worse. All of this, and so much more! Ironically, all this from a man that wanted to judge my character.

One day we just left. IT was a piss poor neighborhood and he was a piss poor landlord. We couldn't take it anymore. My point is this- I can't get my deposit back or the things stolen from me but DO NOT RENT FROM THIS JACKA** he is a fraud. STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM HIM AND ANYONE HE ASSOCIATES WITH. (they may be felons, too).

I, Pierre Rubben have been in the apartment rental business for over 23 years now with approximately 24 individual rentals and have never had any complaints from any one other than this person or perhaps those of whom I have had to evict.  This particular individual rented an apartment from me over 11 years ago for approximately 3 weeks and wanted to end the 1 year lease and move out for no other reason than the apartment did not suit him.  I told him he was welcome to move out but he would forfiet his deposit of just $300.00 as I would not be able to turn the apartment for the coming month without more notice.  He choose to move.  The person taking over his aptartment a month and a week later- stayed in the apartment for 9 years thereafter.  I pride myself in the way I keep my aptartments -clean and painted and updated as need be and try to keep rents at a vey reasonable rate -- because of this my tenants tend to stay in all of my apartments for long tenures.  Currently 6 of my tenants have been in their same apartments for 21,13,9,8,7,and 6 years respectively with most others having about a 3 year average.

I am a family man,having a loving wife and six children who were happy to help around the apartments when there were small jobs to do.. We worked as a family and it provided extra allowance money at times for my kids.  It instilled a strong work ethic in all of them which even today  makes me very proud. As to the employees of the fellow I hired as contract labor siding  the apartment house - I had no knowledge of  their backgrounds nor any knowledge or proof that any of them had been stealing from my tenants (No one else -3 other tenants-complained of this) Slumlords do not even  slap paint on much less put siding on properties. I pride myself on  making  repairs to  items that need attention in apartments as soon as I here of the problem including all appliances. I provide Washer and dryers to all of my apartments as a courtesy. I do often leave paint cans  in the back of closets so that tenants can touch up scratches when they happen and I have never rented an apartment that was not move in ready for a new tenant as they are askerd to submit a list of any items that need attention the first week they move in just so no thing is left undone. And yes my leases do stipulate plumbing repairs that tenants will be held reponsible for.

In closing I am not the gay slumlord who does nothing but take rent for run down apartments as I have been accused and maintain that any reasonable person would have understood that just moving out of an apartment with no notice after only a few weeks into a years lease  would not be refunded what was a very low deposit to begin with.  I could have gone to small claims and asked that the lease be inforced to term but that is not my nature.  I am sorry that after over 6000 tenant-months of rentals that this one individual is so very unhappy with the accomodation that he choose to make unjust comments in this report.
