This is the second time in a row I have been screwed by Pinnacle systems!
I fell for their bait and switch scam last time, but refuse to do it a third time:
I bought the Pinnacle Systems Studio 10 video software and capture card on August 1, 2008. I only used it one day, but needed to contact tech support to get a "special driver update" so it would work on my Windows XP PRO software.
Yesterday, on August 25, 2009, I tried to use this software for another project, but again, Pinnacle's software did not work properly. When I called the company for tech support, a recording states: "Pinnacle Systems no longer supports Studio 10 products". This made me furious, since I don't enjoy buying computer products that go obsolete so fast (like HP printers that can't get driver support after 12 months).
Then I remembered: this is Pinnacle's way of doing business. It's BAIT AND SWITCH all the way!! I originally owned a Studio 7 software program and hardware and they did the same thing to me back then, which is why I finally had to buy the new Studio 10 package.
Any company that does business this way is cheating customers out of the rightful access to use of their product. They don't tell you this in any of their advertising! They just take your money and run!! I'm going down to Fry's this afternoon and giving their salesmen a piece of my mind about pushing "Pinnacle" merchandise - and then I will be forced to consider buying another brand of video software.
