I have been a loyal customer of Pizza Hut at two locations and various phone numbers for 12 years and have spent literally thousands at pizza hut (1-2 pizzas per week) until this past month.

I never had an issue with one of the stores in Mesquite, Tx, but have had nothing but problems since moving to Dallas. I had no problems with this pizza hut until 2 months ago. Since then we have received a dropped pizza, the wrong pizza, 3 very late pizzas (over 2 hours), one free' pizza was delivered, and my husband's being insulted by the manager.

The first problem arose with a very late pizza, call the store manager. Who was very short with us, she gave us the corporate number, and called them. We received 3 free pizza coupons because of bad service and the rude manager.

We had no problems ordering the free pizzas, until we got to the last 2. The First one was incredibly late (2 hours late, 3 hours total since the call). The manager apologized, and that was enough at that time. On the last pizza, the delivery guy said he waited at the gate for 15 minutes before turning around and going back to the store. That was a lie because you can see the gate on our deck, and NO CAR was waiting more than 1 minute. Our pizza finally arrives, almost 2 hours later.

My husband calls the manager, and she's nice, until she go to hang up the phone and didn't hang it up right, he hears her saying, My god! That Son of a b***h! F***ing a*****e, if he calls to complain 1 more time, I swear to god this is the second time we called that night, first to find out where the hell our pizza was, and second to inform her of how late our pizza was, and that the driver lied to us about the gate. She promises to send a free pizza and breadsticks over as soon as the driver gets back. 2 hours later, no free pizza. We call the store, and no one is there.

Corporate office is no help, I don't give a d**n about free pizza, all I want is half-decent customer service, and I can get that elsewhere.

We are taught, as managers, to believe what our customers say and do whatever we can to satisfy them. How is that "changing for the worse?" Crappy people get promoted in every company, but just as there are crappy employees, there are sincere, caring ones. Those are few and far between, but that's a problem that goes far beyond company policy and into the realm of bad parenting, a terrible society and greediness.

I gave up on pizza hut years ago. As a matter of fact, I pretty much gave up on pizza years ago. Unless one of the sons or daughters-in law or the grandkids want them, I pass on them. But when I use to eat them, I found pizza hut was the worst of the bunch and had the most problems with them.

I have been with Pizza Hut for just about 2 years, and what your saying is something I see all the time. The managers either don't care that your order is wrong/late, orthey just don't want to deal with it. So because of this my store sends out free pizzas, credits or tries to get the customer something for free. But your right, from what I have seen, not all customers want free food, most just want an employee to listen and show concern. But in regards towards the late pizzas, almost every pizza hut in the garland/dallas area is understaffed, which from personal observations I concluded that the RGM were being extremely too picky. Your completely right with where you stand. From almost all the stores I have worked at, its maybe a 1 to 5 ratio of store that have somewhat decent customer service. Its true though that you more than likely won't get any help from calling dallas corporate, you should ask the stores RGM for the main corporation's number. The policies towards customer service have changed but only for the worse. I hope this helped a little. Good luck.
