I ordered a pizza at 6:22 pm 9/29/07 via online. I ordered a special - 2 medium pizza's, breadsticks, and cinnamin sticks for $19.99. I ordered a cheese-lover's and a chicken supreme. What I received was a supreme with sausage and pepperoni, and a cheese pizza that was cold, half-eaten, and torn apart. I called to have my pizza's exchanged. Louis, the manager on duty, was a complete a**. He said no one there would have eaten half the pizza. He told me he'd resend my two pizza's. We argued about them being free, to which he finally agreed.

When the driver came, she bought me two pizza's which had been packed size-ways in the box. She bought no refund (I'd paid by credit card). I showed her the pizza's that we had been delivered. We discussed the current state of the pizza's (she agreed with our assessment of their appearance). We told her we'd keep the chicken pizza (which I didn't think was very tasty), and she sayd she'd bring us back our new pizza's and some breadsticks in about 35-40 mins.

A few hours later, I called to see why we had no pizza's, and to cancel the order all together (it was then around 10:30 pm). Louis, ever the a**, told me I would get no new pizza since I kept the chicken pizza. He also would not refund my credit card charge. Then he said he'd give me $10 if I came to get it. I told him I didn't pay $22.78 (total amount paid) for one pizza, which I couldn't even eat. We argued; he hung up. I called back, and he wouldn't get back on the phone.

The girl who'd answered decided to be equally an a**, and told me to go to Papa Johns. I still haven't eaten. I am awaiting a call from the district manager, because I will accept nothing short of a refund, and Louis needs to be fired, because he cannot do his job in any meaningful way. I have never before received a half-eaten pizza, and I have never gotten such poor customer service on top of it. Clearly, we didn't eat the pizzas, since we sent them back exactly as they were received.

You took the pizza, you don't get fll reimbursement

Pizza Hut has to deal with cheaters and scammers constantly, and delivering to hotels is simply the worst. Bottom line is -- if you take an item, you don't get full compensation for it. Why? Because you used their product and they receive nothing in return. That is not how a company functions. I wouldn't buy your story, either. Reason to lie? Anger. You would be amazed at how often people blatantly lie because say, they get a pizza with the wrong toppings and somehow feel entitled to blow it out of proportion by saying everyone was rude, the manager eats babies, the food was tainted with salmonella, etc. Wealthy or educated people are the worst, as they seem to have an insanely inflated sense of entitlement. No one will be fired. That is not how life works. If you hate P-Hut so much, call dominoes. Why? Because I for one would not want the business of someone like you who would use his vast financial resources to get back at someone paid six bucks an hour.

Do stores make mistakes? Yes they do. However in reading the OP again it still makes no more sense to me than it first did. When the second driver came with the pizzas the customer accepted the chicken pizza. Commented that it wasn't very tasty. And yet still wants a refund for the pizza they ate. Also Pizza Hut boxes are printed with a 1-800 number to call if there's a problem. if the customer was not satisfied with the response from the store, why not call the number which is run by corporate. Still want to know about the "sizeways" packing. If the OP is still here can you please explain exactly what you meant by that phrase. As far as the examples, yes I've found icing on the inside of the top but how exactly would that be packing the cake "sizeways"? The icing could get ther when the lid is put on or when the cake sldies against it, but that still doesn't affect the cake enough to complain about it. And I find it very interesting that you want us to think, but then admit to rationalizing. When you rationalize something you've taken the thinking and logic out of it.

It's actually quite easy to swallow if you just think about it

Do people really have so much suspicion of others that they cannot "swallow" a story like this? If you have ever had a bad experience with any company, you quickly realize that situations like this can and do happen every day. That's the whole reason why this forum exists in the first place! Customer service is not as it should be with most companies. Managers are rude and employees do not care about their jobs or the customers. That's the reality at most places of business these days. As far as the arguments about the "side-ways" pizza thing, I can fully understand what he meant. Instead of carrying it flat, the driver must have carried the pizza on it's side or even partway on its side, which caused the toppings to slide during transit and for the pizza to be messed up. Haven't you ever bought a cake or similar item at the store and opened the container when you got home to find some of the icing on the side of the lid? Or haven't you ever taken a food dish to a party and found that it slid all the way over to the other side of the dish as you drove in your car? Come on people! Use your mind and think! I certainly found this story easy to swallow because I've been ripped off by other companies and have a mind and can rationalize and also put myself into the situation.

Okay I misread the OP, sorry about that. But I still find the report (and yes I have read all the posts) a little hard to accept. Didn't say he lied, didn't say the store was right. but as been put down on other reports there's three sides to the story: the OPs, the company's and some where in the middle the truth.

...for the region. She refunded my money and sent me a new pizza. I definitely wouldn't patronize that restaurant anymore; in fact, even my 10-yr-old son has sworn off Pizza Hut pizza because of this incident. It's unfortunate that people can be so jaded as to think that such a small, inexpensive item could be worth so much trickery and deceit. I couldn't imagine anyone being so hard up for a pizza that they'd subject themselves to such a long, drawn-out, and extremely disrespectful situation. I would also think that anyone with any self respect would have looked past the pizza, itself (if they couldn't seem to convince themselves that there was ever anything wrong with the pizza), and consider the treatment we received from the staff. Has our society sunk so low that even the slightest customer service is no longer expected? Should we all really believe that, even if we are paying for an item or a service, that the deliverer of said item or service is actually doing us a favor by simply providing it, no matter how poorly it is provided? I've owned many businesses in my time, and I couldn't imagine treating a client or customer of mine in such a manner and still manage to stay in business. I hope you all set your sites a little higher, and always expect more for yourself. Never let anyone walk over you or take advantage of you simply because they feel entitled to.

just because you can't picture it, doesn't mean it's a lie. In fact, I thought he wrote "size-ways" not sideways. I don't know what size-ways means either, but I'm smart enough to know that he means the pizza was messed up in the box. Mainly, after everything he wrote, I can't believe that you actually think this story is "hard to swallow" because he wrote the pizza was packed sideways? Did you read all of his updates? His story is completely plausible. It makes less sense if it were made up. People use common sense here. Not everyone is here to make a false report.

Do you pack a pizza sideways in the box??? Thee box folds into a square and the pizza is round, so what's this "packed sideways" stuff??? Kind of makes the rest of your report hard to swallow.

What would be his reasoning for posting a false complaint? What would he gain? I didn't read anything in the original post that would lead me to think he's stretching the truth. Also, maybe I'm naive , but I've never seen anyone open each pizza box before they pay for the delivered pizza. What most commonly happens is the pizza guy hands you your pizza, you hand him the money, you close the door, pizza guy drives away, you put pizza on the table... then open it. Ed, this absolutely could happen. A few years back I ordered hotcakes and sausage (from a fast food place) for my 3 year old daughter. She was very hungry, but I noticed as I pulled the hotcakes out of the bag the tray felt very light. When I opened it, there was only one single hotcake and it had a bite out of it. I thought it was some kind of sick joke. I was FURIOUS, and now having to deal with a hungry screaming 3 year old. I can at least say that the manager at this restaurant was very kind and did give my 2 hotcakes and sausage meals at no cost. My point is this CAN happen. I probably would have even complained on here if I had known about this site at the time. People need to use common sense when accusing people of making things up here on ROR. Yes there are some who abuse this site for personal reasons, and most intelligent people can see that for themselves. They don't need it pointed out for them.

There were six people in the room, and six breadsticks. Did we get full, or did Pizza Hut get paid for pizzas we didnt eat? Even if we had eaten part of that pizza, there was more than enough of it left to do simple math and discover that there would still have been a bunch of hungry pissed people left in that room. I didnt inspect the pizza before I signed the credit card receipt. We were in a small hotel room; everyone was starving, and wed already waited an hour. I didnt expect to have any problems, as never in my 33 yrs of ordering delivery have I ever had this type of situation. I did, however, hand it to the visiting adult. As soon as shed opened it and told me what she found, I opened the door to catch the driver (it was that quick). He was, however miraculously, already gone. I immediately called to the store what had happened, and I immediately got attitude. I never got my pizza. I was in a room with my 1-yr-old, my two-yr-old, my 10-yr-old, a visiting 6-yr-old, and his mother. No one got to eat anything substantial. Even when I received the correct second pizza, I never received the first. My girls were asleep by then; the two boys ate one slice each of the chicken supreme pizza, but thats not a childs pizza. Thats all they ate. My son cried that he didnt get his pizza, and he waited up until 10:45 for that pizza. Until I called and was told we werent getting it because we kept that one pizza (which was based on a decision made with the delivery driver, who was, herself, appalled at what she had seen ; that pizza we kept was only the least damaged; it wasnt good. She also got the first two pizzas back). We never got a call that they had decided not to re-deliver to us. Where is that acceptable service? Were you raised under a rock? Im pissed. Im pissed because I didnt get to eat. I had not eaten all day; I had a headache; I was approaching bad-mood status when this occurred and this pushed me over the top. I still never got a bite to eat. Im pissed because my children went to bed without dinner after a day of playing in the park, which, for children, is very draining the reason why I took them. Im pissed because I paid $22.58 for one pizza, when what I ordered was a $19.99 two-pizza special. Not only did I call the store back several times, I also called corporate four times, reported the incident to the BBB (although I know that wont do a bit of good), and reported it here. Would I have gone through this much trouble if what I wanted to do was starve everyone in the room and get a free pizza, which I didnt get? I am a professional making six figures. If I had wanted more pizza, I would have ordered it. It would have been no huge production. I dont however, waste money on charities called Pizza Hut. Ive only ordered from Pizza hut in the last ten years 2 times; Ill never order again. If it had been about the pizzas, I would have been satisfied after calling corporate and getting four coupons for free pizza, which they gave me after the first call, before the first re-delivery attempt. Lets all use common sense. Incidentally, I work in television. I am going to make an effort to make sure our 20 million plus viewers get to know of this story, and Ill make an attempt to get this added to our VOD content, as well. Find the Gospel Music Network in your area. I have no intent on taking this laying down, as I woke up this morning still hungry.

Find the Gospel Music Network in your area. I have no intent on taking this laying down, as I woke up this morning still hungry.

You are ill-informed, and presumably very illicit in your own actions. I make enough money to afford to buy my own pizzas.

There were six people in the room, and six breadsticks. Did we get full, or did Pizza Hut get paid for pizzas we didn't eat? Even if we had eaten part of that pizza, there was more than enough of it left to do simple math and discover that there would still have been a bunch of hungry pissed people left in that room. I didn't inspect the pizza before I signed the credit card receipt. We were in a small hotel room; everyone was starving, and we'd already waited an hour. I didn't expect to have any problems, as never in my 33 yrs of ordering delivery have I ever had this type of situation. I did, however, hand it to the visiting adult. As soon as she'd opened it and told me what she found, I opened the door to catch the driver (it was that quick). He was, however miraculously, already gone. I immediately called to the store with what had happened, and I immediately got attitude. I never got my pizza. I was in a room with my 1-yr-old, my two-yr-old, my 10-yr-old, a visiting 6-yr-old, and his mother. No one got to eat anything substantial. Even when I received the correct second pizza, I never received the first. I'm a semi-vegetarian, and could have eaten the pizza if I'd wanted to. My girls were asleep by then; the two boys ate one slice each of the chicken supreme pizza, but that's not a child's pizza. That's all they ate. My son cried that he didn't get his pizza, and he waited up until 10:45 for that pizza (my original order was at 6:22). Until I called and was told we weren't getting it because we kept that one pizza (which was based on a decision made with the delivery driver, who was, herself, appalled at what she had seen ; that pizza we kept was only the least damaged; it wasn't good. She also got the first two pizzas back). We never got a call that they had decided not to re-deliver to us. Where is that acceptable service? Were you raised under a rock? I'm pissed. I'm pissed because I didn't get to eat. I had not eaten all day; I had a headache; I was approaching bad-mood status when this occurred and this pushed me over the top. I still never got a bite to eat. I'm pissed because my children went to bed without dinner after a day of playing in the park, which, for children, is very draining the reason why I took them. I'm pissed because I paid $22.58 for one pizza, when what I ordered was a $19.99 two-pizza special. Not only did I call the store back several times, I also called corporate four times, reported the incident to the BBB (although I know that won't do a bit of good), and reported it here. Would I have gone through this much trouble if what I wanted to do was starve everyone in the room and get a free pizza, which I didn't get? I am a professional making six figures. If I had wanted more pizza, I would have ordered it. It would have been no huge production. I don't however, waste money on charities called Pizza Hut. I've only ordered from Pizza hut in the last ten years 2 times; I'll never order again. If it had been about the pizzas, I would have been satisfied after calling corporate and getting four coupons for free pizza, which they gave me after the first call, before the first re-delivery attempt. Occasionally I will order delivery pizza. I open and inspect the food while the delivery driver is still there. It would be very easy to agree with the thinking of the pizza manager. It would be more likely that you ate half of one pizza, realized that the second pizza was not what you ordered, then called and demanded that they send another order out to you. You acknowledge that you kept and ate the chicken pizza and the cinnamon bread sticks. Did the driver really acknowledge that the pizza had been packed sideways? Does not make sense that you would keep it, if it had been delivered in a big glob. No one else would have kept it. So you had 1 pizzas, bread sticks, and wanted 2 more pizzas and a full refund. I have watched to many caught on video shows about the food service. I just would have taken the refund and ordered food from somewhere else. I do not think that this post is completely truthful.
