I used to regularly order from Pizza Hut. They have great food.I ordered for delivery, and usually pay with a credit card. When they come to the house, they don't check my photo ID or the card's numbers against the physical cards last 4 digits.Instead, they put an imprint of your ENTIRE credit card on the receipt.

In 2003, FACTA was passed and it specifically states in Section 605 that there is a maximum of the last 5 digits of your credit card that are allowed to be on any digitally printed receipt.

When I called their corporate office, they are aware that this is a blatant violation of federal law, but said that is company policy. That the "banks are requiring them" to break federal law.

If you pay with a credit card when ordering from Pizza Hut, your entire credit card information will be made available to their minimum wage employees. They will be able to copy your credit card number and expiration date and have the ability to make fraudulent charges.

If anyone has seen false charges on their credit card after ordering from Pizza Hut, contact an attorney.

You would realize that you are mis-reading the law. 605 (g) TRUNCATION OF CREDIT CARD AND DEBIT CARD NUMBERS. (1) IN GENERAL.Except as otherwise provided in this subsection, no person that accepts credit cards or debit cards for the transaction of business shall print more than the last 5 digits of the card number or the expiration date upon any receipt provided to the cardholder at the point of the sale or transaction. (2) LIMITATION.This subsection shall apply only to receipts that are electronically printed, and shall not apply to transactions in which the sole means of recording a credit card or debit card account number --------------------------- What this states is that on any copy that they PROVIDE YOU(the cardholder) only the last 5 digits can be shown. It does not keep the merchant from recording all the numbers and expiration date. This is because if there is ever a dispute from "the cardholder" they can show that they actually imprinted the card. Now you are probably refering to (2) because the receipt was "electronically printed". Again, that refers only to the copy they give you, they still have the right to imprint the card on THEIR copy. That is just a limitation that allows a merchant to use a manual form and your copy can still have all of the numbers. Now, the merchant has a responsibility to keep "care and control" of these numbers. So while not illegal, if they are negligent in how they keep these numbers and something happens they could be held liable.
