Placement Today Internet Marketing Scam! Irvine California
I own an internet marketing business. I was sold on the Placement Today service. It sounded like a great idea. For people who have a certain toolbar, your website will show above all ads for whatever phrase you choose. Meaning that on google, yahoo and most of the major search engines people who search for your phrase will see your website (pictured) above all others.
Sounds great right? WRONG!!!
I was told that 20 Million people in the US and Canada have this certain toolbar. I can't prove them wrong but I can say I don't believe it.
I was doubting when I first talked to the rep for the company. But he did say that they have a minimum of people they have to show have seen my site. They have a tracking software that enables me to see how many people on a daily basis see my site. If they don't meet the guarantee, they'd refund my money.
I was guaranteed 2,500 visitors in the first 90 days. Which is somewhat low, but they assured me that the actual number would be MUCH higher.
After 90 days I checked, and I had under 700 views!!!
I have since tried to get my refund. I have been hung up on, put on hold for a long time and left messages with never a call back.
DO NOT BUY THIS SERVICE!!!
