Platinum Sales - United Family Circulation Door to door magazine sales scam Buford Georgia
On March 4, 2009, two high school kids went door-to-door in our neighborhood with a story of being only a couple of magazine sales away from winning a summer trip to Italy. I was skeptical but the kid said his sister had done the same magazine sales last year & was able to go to Europe. In addition, he stated his dad was in the military so he had no reason to deceive potential buyers. As a result, I was lured into purchasing a year's magazine subscription for around $40 plus the possibility of helping a student out towards a trip to Italy. Unfortunately, we're now in June and I've not yet received one magazine in the mail. I tried calling the customer service number which leaves three different options (checking order status, changing address and speaking to representative). All three options lead to an answering machine with a 'mailbox is full' prompt. I have tried on several occasions to speak to a representative but it keeps taking me to a 'mailbox is full' prompt so I cannot even leave a message. As a result, I've Googled 'Platinum Sales Inc.-United Family Circulation Inc.' on the internet and was outraged by the number of similar complaints. Is there anyone out there that can file a class action lawsuit against such a shady business scheme so consumers like myself, who originally wanted to help a student, can find solace in our justice system?
