I am a Sprint comsumer and recently received my monthy statement. It was higher than usual so I called Sprint and they said I had a charge of $9.99 added to my account. I inquired as to why and they stated that I had signed up for an application titled Play Phone on September 14, 2015. They also let me know that I would have a reoccuring month charge of $9.99. I told them in no way did I sgned up for this or any other gaming application. They informed me that I could have Play Phone blocked from charging me any more money in the future but that I would have to pay this month's charge. I am extremely annoyed and want to know how I could be charged for something that I in no way authorized.

Sprint itself doesn't have the power to download an app on YOUR phone. Its OBVIOUS to anyone who has a smartphone, that you did indeed download an app and are charged for its services. Sprint has NO CONTROL over WHAT you download. SO if you did it or one of your kids did it, YOU are still responsible for ANY charges incurred during the use of YOUR device. Doesn't change the FACT that an app was downloaded to YOUR phone and during its use a tab was hit that agreed to the Terms and Conditions of using said app. Its JUST LIKE SOFTWARE ON YOUR COMPUTER!!!!! YOU the consumer are the one who puts apps on YOUR phone, YOU are responsible for that. YOU are probably confusing WHICH app it is. When you get one of these its only as a charge from the parent company. Im betting if they included the apps title in the statement it would clear up some confusion. Think back because it IS important. Did YOU let ANYONE else use YOUR phone? DO YOU HAVE CHILDREN??? Did your mate/gf/bf ect use YOUR phone for awhile? Even if one of THEM did this at the end of the day its on YOU since its YOUR phone. Your own words...... I am extremely annoyed and want to know how I could be charged for something that I in no way authorized. The problem is that you HAD to have authorized them to do this or it wouldn't have happened. While YOU may not be up to date on tech, I am. See when YOU agree to something on your phone it time stamps that agreement for legal purposes. It basically shows in their system that YOUR DEVICE agrees to the terms and conditions of whatever app is running at a specific time. So YOUR IMEI is logged as the "person" and its time stamped with the date of acceptance. So THEY have PROOF that YOUR DEVICE authorized the charge. The same is said for the app itself that is charging YOU. Its time stamped and logged with YOUR DEVICES internal information. This way when someone like you comes up and says "Oh, I didn't do this." They can literally look up the time and date of acceptance. There really isn't a way to "fake" or "clone" cellphones anymore. That particular issue was fixed awhile ago. Its MUCH more difficult then YOU would imagine to "copy" a phone. So THAT excuse goes bye bye.
