A friend of mine in Michigan called me for help. A woman who is known to be seeing her husband put up a fraudulent profile on her at www.plentyoffish.com and put her real name, address, phone number, and pictures of her and her grandchildren on the site. I tried my best to find contact information on the company to advise them directly of this problem. No direct contact to be found. I could only go into the profile for her and change everything around in hopes of preventing more middle of the night calls. Her children are now leary of leaving her grandchildren with her anymore because of this.

I decided to find out more about this site so i started to sign up for it in hopes of working on the contact situation. Imagine my shock and surprise to get a flash saying there was already an account with MY email address listed! I spend more hours doing research and the only thing i can come up with is a singles site i tried out some months back. Totally unhappy with that site and its LACK of any real substance, I have not went back to it. Since i know for a fact i have NEVER signed up for www.plentyoffish.com I suspect fraud. The site must be linked with one or more others.

I can only suggest that people should be careful about these sites and read ALL the large print, small print, and fine print.

If you sign up on Plenty of Fish, it is best not to use your real e mail address.

Your best bet is if you go on Plenty of Fish is to make up a fake e mail address that does not exist. Your profile should last a month or two that way, but at least you are not giving the site your e mail address unless the moderators are reading your personal mail and you are giving out your e mail address to other members in that mail. Remember www.plentyoffish.com is where the internet scammers hang out. Don't believe any Plenty of Fish profiles or lingo, especially from women because they are the one's usually pulling the most scams.
