I know that they are con artist I have called them to and the same stupid rude b*$*h answers the phone. They stole one of my poems but never got any money from me because I came across this rip off website and found out that other people have got the same things in the mail as me. Thanks to all the people who have written reports about them. It saved me money. Got to poetry.com and look under the poets for the last name poetry.com and read the poem by Suck This Poetry.com

I was going through reading the rebuttals to this rip off report. I couldn't believe some of the things I was reading. How can you say that poetry.com has been good to you. The company is obviously ran by a bunch of conartist. Call the number they give you and I guarantee you a girl answers the phone. I bet she sounds straight off the street, uneducated, and rude. I say this because I have called several times and it is always the same person who refuses to give her name. Get real people. They ask you for your money to publish your poetry. Does this not send up a red flag. Then you say if I don't want it I don't buy it. That is all great but how do you know your so called poetry is being pushlished then?

I submitted a few poems many years ago and bought a few of the books that they were located in. I just wanted to say that your poem doesn't always end up on the first page. In fact, mine never did.

yes well i too am a poet and i TOO am sitting here with a letter something akin to: "after carefully reading and discussing your poem, our selection committee has certified your poem as a semi-finalist in our International Open Poetry Contest, i want your money and i will suck it like a vampire if i have to!" haha, thanks for the heads up, that would have been a humiliating way to begin my carreer. thanks again

I have been a customer of Poetry.com (International Library of Poetry) for many years. I have recently joined Poets'.com and in the past have been a satisfied member of International Society of Poets. The experience for me has been an immensely creative one. This has been my experience and I speak for myself alone. If I don't want something, I simply don't buy it. I have never in any way been penalized for my choice. One time I bought a book with my poem published in it. Fine. Then another book came, and another and another and I only had paid for one. I called them up and asked did they want me to mail back the others. They said no, it was their mistake and I should just keep them. When one compac disk was faulty, they sent me a whole new set and told me to just keep the good recordings and don't return them. Recently, everything that could break down in my mobile home, did, and I couldn't afford to order the book although I hope to in the future (my poem titled Saying Goodbye to Mama.} Nevertheless, I received the Editor's Choice Award. Poetry does not belong to the poets. It is innate in the human soul, whether we choose to write it or read it. I feel organizatons such as these, give the everyday person a voice if he or she chooses to use it. I feel, too, it is a safeguard to freedom of speech. Not every poet wants an agent or feels they must go down this path or that to publish. Poets come from all paths of life. Poetry does not need to be perfect to be immensely moving. Remember, Robert Burns was a farmer, Phyliss Wheatley a former slave, and Ben Jonson was a bricklayer. Be careful who you call an amateur. Thank you once more for letting me express my opinion.

I was also dumb to believe they thought my poem was good. I didn't mind the wait to get the book, which was a lot by the way, but what I thought was very suspicious was my poem was on the very FIRST page. Now, I think that's kinda funny. I have a feeling everyone who submits a poem and buys the book, has their poem on the first page also. I would love to know if others ordered books and this has happened. But, I'm not really complaining. I have the book laying on my coffee table and when I read some of the stuff in there, well, I didn't even understand half of them. Made no sense to me! I have submitted other poems but I will not buy another book. Now, I'm just having fun. I have never written poetry before but I got mad one day, at my ex, and started writing about what an a$$ he was. It is actually now a form of therapy for me. Anyway, I was just looking around on here and came upon this and I had to add my 2 cents. I usually go to Ameriquest where I really air my frustrations! DON'T EVER refinance with them. They truly earn their reputation on this site. Merry Christmas!

Dear bruce Loved your poem it was heartfealt and full of senament. I have used their site and have wondered to about their honesty not all buisnesses are genuine. There are several vanity presses a whole lot less reputable then them. Yess they ask for more and more money if you don't wish to do it DON'T. I for my self have not yet had a bad exsperience. Yess as several other reports have commented they do take a looooonnnnngggg time to get their books out many publishers do. I don't doubt the problems that have occured and some of their requests do get persistent when they start asking for money every time you turn around. If it is something you don't want don't buy it.
