Unfortunately you are dealing with a very difficult to cure problem. First of all I am a very frustrated former service advisor. Dealers hire individuals for these positions, that have absolutely no automotive or customer service expperience at all. The so called service managers that lead these people are no better trained and have egos the size of the former wtc. The reason they themselves have never been properly trained. If you checked on their track record, most of them half way through their careers have worked for at least 5-20 dealers because they are so terrible. As for your problem, gat the personel on the phone and record them, ask them nicely to explain to you that they took apart your clutch, ask for all the reading and thickness on the plates, more than likely they will either make up numbers or say they will get back to you. B.S. you tell them that they record all info on the service record and it is readily acessible to them. Keep record of the time they keep you on the phone. Than tell them that another dealer road tested the car and advised that the clutch was improperly balanced. They will either deny it or get mad, let them because you're going be secretly recording this conversation. After the conversation is over explain to them that you now have them on tape and your attorney is going to draft an item to bring legal action against there dealer ship through voilation of implied warranties and state DMV Laws. Than armed with all this, you draft a letter explaining what had transpired and fax letters immediately to the owner/general manager of the dealer explaining that you will now foward legal action against them, you are also going to write to the local media and explain your dilemma. Dealer S&^t a brick when there reputation is going to be exposed.
