Portfolio Development Corporation and Marshall Fields Marshall Fields conned me with confidence and fleeced me with worthless gems Marina del Rey California
In the late 90's I was called by Portfolio Development Corporation, Marshall Fields. I was sent the company info, and called on several more occasions and eventually I made a small investment in the gemstones. Mr Fields would call every month and tell me how well my investment was doing, suggesting that I add to my portfolio. I inherited some money and was convinced by the Portfolio Develpment Corporation that the could take the modest amount and make it grow substantially in time. I bit the hook! According to "agreement" with Portfolio Development Corp, I had to hold
the gems for two years and at that tme they would assist me in liquidating my holdings. Due to a family emergency I requested to liquidatemy holdings early and was informed I could not. because the market was soft and everybody was investing cash in other markets, but if I waited it would surly rebound. I truly knew at that time I had been scammed but did not want to admit it to myself. After calling Marshall Fields many times and looking for help from other places I gave up. I this helps anyone not to fall for Marshall Fields pile of BS, then I will consider this a success.
