My 19 year old daughter owns this p.t.cruiser with only 4500 miles on it that has been up for sell from the 2nd visit to the dealer 1 month after buying it and because of the run around by the dealer it became my problem.

This car has been in the shop 7 times in 5 months for different problems from noise in the a.c. pump, noise in the brakes, electric windows that work some of the time, rough engine idal when hot in the summer to what brought it to my attention. On friday 11-03-04 she called the dealer at around 7:00pm to tell them that the instrument cluster was not working and interior lights would not shut off.

They said all their techs had gone home and there was nothing they could do till monday 11-06-04. With that she came to ask for my help because she had mid terms for college the next morning. With that I gave her my car so she could get to school at 8:00am. I took the car around the block to check out the gauges that did not work could not get the lights inside the car turn off so I pulled the car into my garage and pulled the fuse to get the lights off.

The next morning I got in and started the car and low and behold all the gauges started working. I never put the fuse back in till I got the car back to the dealer at 8:39am. I was at the dealer fighting with the service rep why he did not offer to at the very least give her a rental car so she could get to school. He said that was not their policy and that was when I got into a yelling match which ended in myself getting a rental car after a rather long battle with all the people that would listen and then talked to the machanic on duty and he tryed to tell my all the things it was in for where normal for the p. t. crusier at the break in period.

With that they tryed to cool me off by telling me they would make arangements to have their chrysler rep. On monday 11-06-04 in the mean time they would check the car out . I called on monday 11-06-04 around 5:00pm to see 1 if the rep. was their and they said they never told me this.

So I said what happening with the car and low and behold the computer came back with a failure code on the dash so they have to order and replace. I then had to talk to the chrysler rep on the phone and after an hour she pulled the service history and the amount of visits to the dealer went from 7 down to 2 by the end of the conversation. Just to note that not only did they treat this problem very poorly and as of this writing still are playing games with me but I also lost a days wages for saturday 11-04-04 they said they would not pay.
