We were looking online for a loan company that would deal with someone will poor credit. We didn't qualify for any of the big name lenders and a day later were contacted by Mandy Throne from Premier Financial Group. She said that we qualified for a $40,000 secure loan but would need to provide a cosigner, collateral, or loan insurance to secure the loan. We didn't have a co-signer or collateral since our car isn't paid off so our only option was to do the loan insurance.

We sent $1500 via Money Gram to a company called Prudent Insurance Company also located in Kingston Jamaica. We were contacted by Johnathon Carver and he told us that the insurance company wouldn't accept us after doing a background check so he had to go through another insurance company.

After he did that we were told that we would have the money within 2-3 days directly deposited into our bank account. Well that time passed and no money so we called him back and he said that we'd have to pay another $2400 for the taxes on the loan for customs to be able to release the funds since it had something to do with terrorists. We told him that we wouldn't pay that since there is no such thing as taxes on a loan (you pay interest on a loan which makes up for the taxes).

After threatening to sue him he said that he would see what he could do to be able to get it to go through. He called us back and said that he was waiting on a signature for the funds to be released. Well they shut our cell phones off (we don't have a home phone) since we were supposed to have free long distance and international calls to certain areas (come to find out we didn't and now our bill is $400, but that's a whole other report for Sprint).

Anyway we have tried to contact him from my Mother's house and the phone number that was listed on all the paper work doesn't work anymore 1-877-215-4648. I looked up the fax number online 1-563-405-6225 and it is a number located in Iowa, but is indeed a fax number. We have not received the money and have been in contact with the US Attorney General and they are going to help us out with getting this resolved.

Please do not fall for this. I thought it was a legit company since they offered a co-signer option too. If we had had a co-signer then they wouldn't get any money from us upfront. We had also contacted places in Jamaica before we even went through with this to find out if they were a legit company and we were told by several different places that they were.

We are now behind on our rent and car payment and have had to get rid of our cell phones and a few other payments to be able to catch back up from this. We borrowed the $1500 from my step-dad and now we have to pay him back (that was the money they were going to use to pay the taxes on their house). We are about to lose everything if something doesn't happen soon. Don't fall for any of this.

There are several names listed on the paper work; Barry Columb (Prudent Insurance Company), Francine Brunet, Anderson Hunt, T.A. Harper, Cheryl Brooks, and Bill Swift. If a Mandy Throne contacts you or any other "employee" from Premier Financial Group just hang up the phone.

I recently contacted the Federal Trade Commission regarding the scam that is run by Premier Financial Group. They informed me that they don't investigate on an individual basis but if they get enough reports for a certain company they will investigate and if there is some type of settlement you will also be included in the group settlement. The phone number is 1-877-FTC-HELP (1-877-382-4357). If enough of us provide them with our information then maybe we can help get them shut down and prevent more people from becoming victims of this scam. We may also be able to recover some of the money we lost in a group settlement, but more than likely we won't get any of our money back. As long as I can help prevent this from happening to other people then I'm happy.
