Whew!

I am a 22 year old college student in Illinois who will graduate in the spring from a great college with a degree in finance, so naturally Primerica came across my resume on-line.

DO NOT DEAL WITH THEM! They utilize all sorts of manipulative and misleading tactics that other MLMs I have run into propose, only they do a much better job of hiding this. I received an invitation to an "interview" for a position for "a few handpicked candidates" who would receive "extensive development and training" in helping people become debt-free. Because I was familiar with the rest of the "Citi-" family, I made the mistake of assuming they were legitimate.

After reading the reports on this site the night before one of their "business overviews" I changed my mind. The final straw was when I learned that agents aren't even liscenced to sell financial products! This is too bad, since financial services sales is really a great field, if you are working for a good company. RipoffReport.com is the Ebay of consumer reports- I'll check it again before I ever "interview" with another company again.

Thanks for saving me 3 hours, $199, and a lot of stress!

All Primerica Reps are licensed!

It is interesting to me that some of these complaints have been posted based on 2nd hand info from people who obviously didn't pay attentiom. I have been w/ Primerica for 6 months. I am now a licensed insurance agent (Life/Health) in the State of Texas. I am now studying for my Loan Officer license. I have NEVER heard anyone in Primerica say we are the cheapest provider or that we are non-licensed reps. We are regulated by State and Federal agencies such as the SEC and Texas Insurance Board. I have received my refund for passing the insurance exam, and was paid quickly w/ no hassles or smoke and mirrors. We are trained in accordance w/ a strict compliance program. I was trained to tell my clients to PLEASE shop the market (I readily give websites, articles from The Wall Street Journal, Barron's, and Money Magazine) to ensure that they are getting what is right for them. Personal finance is not an emotional issue, but a rational issue. If my client finds a better deal, I encourage them to do it. The end result is that they paid me NOTHING for my time, and at the least spurred their thought process to become a better informed consumer and investor. This is my main goal. Read "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" by Robert Kyosaki, or "The ABC's of Personal Finance", of which both give sound investment advice, and both mention Primerica in a positive light. $199.00 is a very low cost to obtain information on how to become licensed in varied areas of finance, start your own business, and to have my background checked for felony offenses, so that crooks cannot become a part of our organization. Our business is strictly referal based, so how didi we become so succesful if all we do is rip people off? I can assure you it's not from unhappy clients.

Speaking of IQ's... and I refused to be duped by Primerica's manipulation

A person that cannot even spell their name correctly, not to mention other words in their short rebuttal, cannot have that high of an IQ. As for myself, I have an IQ of 140, in the genious level, and I refused to be duped by Primerica's manipulation. Congrats, fellow-college student, on avoiding the scam. I am 23 years old, and a full-time student myself (I received an AA in Business, but am studying music not). I only saw trouble after attending one meeting. Thanks to all of these other helpful stories, I have avoided shelling out money I do not have to spend.
