Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I too was subject to a scam from Primerica. About a week ago I was contacted by a Primerica associate in regards to my resume he had found at Monster.ca. When I had posted my resume on Monster I made it quite clear I was looking for work in the new media/ Graphic Design sector. So when I received a call from Primerica something seemed a little fishy. They seemed to be very interested in my skills and wanted to meet with me as soon as possible. I went to an interview last Friday. Things went well, we talked about my future, and where I want to be. They immediately asked me to come back for another interview, a group conference sort of deal. I agreed to come back on the following Wednesday. The group conference was a complete joke. Instead of explaining topics they totally whipped through everything as if they had to get home to watch the Simpson. I am sure half the people whom were at this meeting were in the same boat as me. I must say when the associates were talking about their company they sure didn't seem too interested. Another thing that struck me was the fact that at no point did they ever tell any of us what exactly they do. I talked to an associate immediately following the show. They told me they would like for me to come back for the third round of interviews. (I thinking to myself that I must be doing something right). My final interview was this past Friday, I had to jumble up workday to meet their demands. Our interview lasted about an hour and a half. They want me for the position yet I have these thoughts in my head that make it seem too good to be true.

1. they want $199 from me.

You'd think that the largest FINANCIAL company in the world could pay for a measly start-up fee.

2. I am a graphic designer not a sales person.

you can't teach someone overnight the in's and out's of sales pitching.

3. $20,000 per month > too good to be true.

I think so.

4. $200,000 per month.

Huh!!!!

If you have the ability to sell services all the power to you.

But in my situation this is a pure SCAM.

I was also found by primerica. They actually came to my current workplace, and wanted an interview. I found it odd that someone would want to hand out jobs to employees of other workplaces (I am a restaraunt manager, and the rep was ordering dinner). Anyway, I went to my interview, and then the second meeting. It was exactly as the first person stated. I do not pay to work somewhere. I dont care about certification. I am NOT paying to work somewhere. Like mentioned above, why not take it off the first cheque?? I think it is a pyramid scheme, but sort of laundered along the way.

Dom, Unfortunately, sometimes people do not follow the company guidelines. When this happens, especially in a business that relies so heavily on word of mouth advertising (referrals), people get a bad image of an otherwise good company. I am currently in the process of being lisenced with the BC government and, as such, can totally understand your apprenhension and confusion. The people in my office were very upfront about what the business entails. Some representatives would rather bring many people through training to find a few that are willing to take the time to build their own business in Primerica. I, however, think that this is a waste of time, both for the representative and the prospective trainee. The reason that I decided to proceed with Primerica is that I saw (and still see) a legitimate opportunity to help people get out of debt and become financially independent. Too many people, especially those approaching retirement, do not have any written game plan to outline where their retirement income will come from. This provides a great opportunity for the Primerica representative to be thier financial coach. I wish you all the best in your training and lisencing process, I hope that you can fight through the negativism that dominates the world we live in. Chris P.S. It does not matter that you are a designer by profession, Primerica is about financial education!

It is just confusing! You know how people just talk to you and convince you that you just found something that changes your entire life! But when you sit and think about it, it is so good to be true!! I don't even know where they got my resume, I didn't even ask. I am a college student and I was looking for a job that pays well so then I can pay my college fees next semester. I went for the first interview and the person I talked to was very friendly and funny. He asked me some questions that has nothing to do with their company which was good for me cause I am not into bussiness thing and I don't have any business background. I am more into medical feild. So the first interview went well, and I was told that I would get a call from them for the second interview which was two days later. I attended the secound interview and I was just confused and also in my mind I was hoping whatever they said was true. But How could I know? I believed almost 80% of what they said because they were so convincing!!!! Right after that I was asked to tell the first person that intervied me one reason why I want to be part of the company and I explained my future plan, dream and goal........ They liked what I said and I was asked to fill out a form, which I did. I was asked to pay for my training $199 +tax which came about $212. That kind of surprised me cause since they are going to hire me why don't they take of the money from my first pay check or ........ lots of thoughts were in my mind but I said let me just give it a try. I could just give out my credit card because of the doubts that I had so I brought money order. NOW I AM SUPPOSE to go for my third training day but the problem is I have so many doubts and my family, my boy friend and every one I know are just telling me that it is just a rip off. The truth is I don't really know what the hell I am going to be doing after the training is over, another thing that confused me is that I was looking at what the people that work there were wearing, but I didn't see anybody that was wearing an expensive cloths.....(you know what I mean? if it is paying that much money, why why why?) Another thing is why don't they say what exactly the job would be like? I mean everybody would love to know what the job really is before they get hired right? it is just confusing!!!! I am so lost!!!I probably will continue taking the training and I will let you guys know what happens next my name is bubu ok. And if it really is a rip off ....I will listn to my family and my boyfriend's warning. Confusing!!!!

I ALSO HAVE BEEN INTERVIEWED WITH PRIMERICA AND IT IS NOT AT ALL THIS WAY. THEY INTERVIEW TO MAKE SURE YOU MESH AND THE 199.00 IS PAYED BACK ONCE YOU GO THROUGH THE TRAINING AND GET YOUR LICENSES. IF THEY PAID FOR EVERYONE TO GO THROUGH THE TRAINING AND THE FEES AND ONLY HALF OF THEM DIDN'T GO FORWARD AND DECIDED IT WASN'T FOR THEM, THEY WOULDN'T BE A VERY GOOD FINANCIAL INSTITUTION. THIS JUST HELPS FIND THE TRUE EMPLOYEES TO HELP THEM GROW.

I am a representative with Primerica Financial Services, not an employee. We do not seek out employees, or so we shouldn't. But the things you have heard about the income made with Primerica are true. I am sorry that you were ever contacted in such a way. That is not how our office operates simply because it has been discouraged. We are meant to build personal relationships with people, not just hire someone of the street as a normal "job" would. Please don't think that every Primerica Rep. or office is this way. If you go to church, you know that there are devils in the church as well as saints. As is this business. We are here to help people and not to hurt them but of course you will have those who don't do exactly what they are supposed to do. Again, I apologize for their behavior and your disappointment in our company, as far as that office is concerned.
