I recently attended orientation at Progressive, planning to do their Lease Purchase program. This was the biggest joke I have ever seen.
You basically are a company driver, paying all of the expenses. It is a straight lease not a lease purchase. It states in their lease agreement that you acknowledge that you are not purchasing the vehicle.
I questioned this statement and was told by staff that no you were purchasing the truck.
You were not allowed to make any decisions about the truck everything was to be dictated by progressive and international. Even simple thinks like light replacement or wipers and even when you were allowed to have your truck greased.
You were going to start out in the negative from the beginning, as they charged you back for your motel, drug test, and even for them running your MVR.
I did not stay to complete their orientation, nor did I sign their lease.

I am a former lease purchase driver for this company. They will settle with you, but your contract gives them 45 days in which to do this. I didn't make any money with them and spent the last three months trying to get out from under constant truck repairs of $2000 and more each month.
When I turned the truck in it had ant-freeze running out from under it and the a/c wasn't working. My escrow account for final pay-off was used to refurbish the truck at my expense. They sent me the chump change left over.
They way they do things at this company, those that have been there many years do ok, the rest of us struggle. I also felt that charging me for lease fees on deadhead miles and getting little or no revenue for those miles was also cheesy and made it difficult to make a paycheck. Each month I would struggle all month and then get one big settlement at the end. My bankers didn't like the arrangement.
